Import
Importers and exporters are able to register their shipments paperless via online channels and verify their identity online through the Pao-Tang, Krungthai ATM or Krungthai Bank applications rather than showing their original ID/passport at the Customs Office.
To support the growth of the e-commerce market, the online process offers:
- Easier steps for paperless registeration — no need for an orignal ID for verification at the Customs Office. Documents can be uploaded to the online platform. Click to register here, then conduct your identify verification via Pao-Tang, Krungthai ATM or Krungthai Bank
- Phase 1 Support personal Importer/Exporter Thai nationals who never registered paperless with Thai Customs before the 1 July 2021 launch
- Phase 2 Support Importers/Exporters who want to renew or extend their paperless registration
- Phase 3 Support foreign Importers/ExportersÂ
Thai Customs announces a new customs team to verify H.S. Codes in March, 2021.
During the custom process, when a shipment is imported, if a Customs Officer would like to verify the shipment’s H.S. Code that was submitted in a declaration, Customs sends an evaluation team to evaluate and determine which H.S. Code applies to the shipment's product.
This process impacts the clearance processing time and may lead to providing additional evidence or documents to support the submitted declaration and the evaluation process, such as:
- Product description (In Thai)
- Manual /catalog
- Proposed product usage
- Brand /model
- Material
- Volume, dimension, weight
- Price (evidence of purchasing price)
We recommend that you prepare above the documents/details in advance of the shipment's arrival and send the documentation to your broker.
This way when a Customs Officer asks to check a shipment's product details, your broker can immediately submit the paperwork and avoid a longer processing time. You can check your tarriff rate here or contact a FedEx representative about your import process and H.S. code.

With the increased demand for international e-commerce business (cross-border EC), the amount of cargo imported to individuals from overseas is increasing each year.
To ensure smooth import customs clearance in Thailand and to avoid trouble later on, please follow the below instructions.
- When purchasing a product on an e-commerce site, enter the first and last name, address and telephone (mobile) number correctly in the delivery address (importer) field.
- For personal cargo destined to a company, specify that it is for "Personal Use."
- To avoid amendments to the documents, the consignee name on the air waybill (AWB) /invoice /packing list must be the same as import registration name.
- Indicate the given name, middle name and surname including prefix in the recipient /consignee and company name fields.
- For personal consignees, the title (Mr., Ms., Mrs. or Miss) must be stated in the name field. Even if the shipment is sent to a company address, the consignee name is required before inputting the company name in the delivery address.
