FedEx Account FAQs

Why open a FedEx account?

Open an account to take advantage of FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com and make managing your shipping as fast and easy as possible. You will also save up to 16 percent on eligible FedEx Express^® U.S. and international services and up to 8 percent on eligible FedEx Ground^® and FedEx Home Delivery^® services.

You are not required to have a FedEx account number to create shipping labels online. However, please note that you will have to enter and authorize your credit card number for each shipment.

Is there a fee for opening a FedEx account?

There is no fee to open a FedEx account. We do ask that you provide a credit card number so that your billing information is tied to your FedEx account. In order to verify the credit card information, a temporary $1 hold may be placed on your credit card.

I forgot my user ID and/or password. How can I find this information?

If you do not remember your FedEx user ID or password, please click here to have FedEx email the information to you.

Can I add additional FedEx customer numbers?

Yes. Log in to fedex.com and click your name in the top navigation bar. From the dropdown, select My Profile. On the Account Management page and click on “Add an account” to link an existing account number or open a new account. You’ll receive a confirmation email when your information has been updated.
