FedEx Express® Freight services offer time-definite delivery of palletized freight by 10:30 a.m., noon or 3 p.m. in 1, 2 or 3 business days to most U.S. locations.

*Due to air-cargo capacity constraints, we are adjusting delivery commitment times for several FedEx Express® services in the U.S. November 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021. This includes changing the FedEx 1Day® Freight commit time to 11:30 a.m. or 1:00 p.m. to most locations and the FedEx 2Day® Freight and FedEx 3Day® Freight commit times to 4:30 p.m. in most locations.

Additionally, FedEx money-back guarantee is suspended for FedEx Express® services for which money-back guarantee was previously reinstated November 1, 2021 through January 16, 2022.

Delivery time

Next-business-day delivery by 10:30 a.m. for most shipments; by noon for many others. Check transit times.

Service days

Monday–Friday, with Saturday pickup and delivery available to many major markets for an additional charge.

Delivery area

Available throughout all 50 states; Hawaii service is to and from the island of Oahu only.

Skid size and weight

Skids exceeding 70" in height or 119" in length or 80" in width require prior approval. Individual skids of 151 lbs. or more. Skids exceeding 2,200 lbs. require prior approval.

Special instructions

To lessen the possibility of damage or delay, follow these packaging guidelines when preparing your express freight shipment. An Extra Services Charge (PDF) will be assessed if your shipment does not meet these guidelines:
  • Individual pieces over 150 lbs. should be banded to the pallet with either metal strapping or unbreakable plastic straps applied around the box or skid freight on all sides.
  • Hardened containers (plywood, metal) that are not banded should have an exterior lock or clamp (glue, nails and screws are not sufficient).

Exceptions

Shipments to and from extended service areas may be picked up and/or delivered by a cartage agent.

FedEx® hold for pickup

If no one is available to receive your shipment, request FedEx Hold for Pickup. We’ll deliver your freight to the nearest FedEx location and contact the recipient when it arrives. Your shipment will be securely held until the recipient can pick it up.



Request proof of signature

Know your goods arrived at their destination and the recipient accepted the shipment. With FedEx Signature Proof of Delivery, we’ll obtain the recipient’s signature and provide you with an image.
