Do you use the online claims process? If not, here are five reasons why you should try it the next time you need to file a claim for FedEx Express® or FedEx Ground® shipments. (FedEx Freight has an online claims process too, but some features differ from the list below.)

  1. It ensures accuracy. Filing claims online ensures there’s no danger of confusion or incorrect tracking numbers, which can happen when claims are called or mailed in. Note: If a package is shipped on your FASC account number, you (not the customer) will need to file the claim, and you’re responsible for settling with your customer.
  2. The steps are simple. FedEx Claims Online walks you through a simple, step-by-step process, guiding you to upload evidence. If there’s any reason for the claim to be denied — for instance, if it’s a duplicate claim that’s already been submitted or if the window of time for a claim has passed* — the system will automatically alert you so you can decide whether you want to finish the process or not.
  3. Status tracking is easy. You can access all your FedEx Express and FedEx Ground claims from a single dashboard — no more searching through emails or paper notes. If you have more than one FedEx Express/FedEx Ground account number under one login, a drop-down lets you easily switch between accounts within the dashboard.   4. You can get paid faster. When a claim is approved, get the payment deposited directly into your bank account using electronic funds transfer (EFT).
