How can I prevent packages from being stolen?
The simple answer is to plan ahead. Here are some options:
- Redirect your package to a nearby retail location (like FedEx Office, Walgreens, Dollar General, or a grocery store). We’ll notify you when it’s ready and hold it for up to 7 days.
- Know when a package is scheduled to arrive. Check if you have an estimated delivery date and estimated delivery time window so you can be home.
- If you have an estimated delivery time window, you can track your package with map view. You’ll see where your package is on the delivery route.
- Enroll for free in FedEx Delivery Manager®. You’ll be able to:
- Ask your driver to leave your package in a specific location—wherever you think is safest. And we’ll do it for all your deliveries. You don’t have to make the request for every shipment.
- Put a temporary hold on your packages for up to 2 weeks. This is a great idea if you plan to be on vacation or traveling for business.
