What is multiweight shipping?

Multiweight shipping can be a great option if you have multiple packages going from the same origin to the same destination. In some situations, you may get a better rate if you handle several packages as a single shipment. In other cases, it makes more sense to keep them separate.

Multiweight is rating logic that you add to your account. It compares the total cost of sending multiple shipments versus treating all the packages as a single shipment. Then it applies the lower multiweight pricing.

If you’re sending FedEx Express^® shipments that weigh more than 100 lbs., multiweight rates are applied automatically. To activate multiweight rates for FedEx Ground^® shipments, talk to your dedicated FedEx account representative. You can also get help from Customer Support.
