Safety measures and response to questions from Senator Booker
FedEx details safety measures and responds to questions from Senator Booker:
On Friday, May 1, FedEx received a letter from Senator Cory Booker regarding employees affected by COVID-19 at our FedEx Express Newark hub. We appreciate Senator Booker’s concern for his constituents. FedEx shares the same concern for our team members in Newark, and we have responded to the senator to reiterate our commitment to the health and safety of our team members there and around the globe, and also to clarify misconceptions in his letter. We are sharing that response publicly. We are aware of the higher infection rates experienced among the general public in the New York metropolitan area, including Newark, and that’s why we are exceeding recommended precautions in terms of team member and customer health and safety.  FedEx continues to follow guidance from the CDC and other public health organizations as we operate as an essential service. We appreciate our frontline team members and their unwavering commitment to deliver for our customers through this global crisis.
