Wouter Roels assumed his current role as regional president of FedEx Europe in July 2024.
In this role, Roels leads a team of more than 47,000 across the region and is responsible for overall planning and implementation of corporate strategies. Europe includes about 50 of the more than 220 countries and territories served globally by FedEx.
Roels began his career with the company in 2001 as an associate marketing analyst, and since that time he has held leadership roles across several of the company’s regions, including: Europe; the U.S.; and Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA).
Most recently, Roels led the Marketing and Customer Experience teams in Europe, responsible for developing the long-range commercial vision for Europe, and he oversaw plans ranging from brand development, experience design and execution, product introductions, and digital channel management.
Under his leadership, FedEx Europe established and mobilized teams to strengthen its performance culture, deliver on high-value commitments, and improve annualized benefits as part of the enterprise’s global transformation.
Roels is a four-time recipient of the FedEx Five Star Award, the company’s highest honor for team members, and holds a master’s degree in applied economics from the University of Leuven in Belgium.
