FedEx Electronic Trade Documents enables you to upload and submit your customs documentation so you don't need to print multiple copies — it's all processed electronically. With this shipping solution, you’ll save time and money, and enjoy greater peace of mind.
Select the FedEx® technology solution you use most frequently for your international shipments to view the FedEx Electronic Trade Documents setup process.

FedEx Electronic Trade Documents seamlessly integrates with FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com. Here’s how you can get started:
- Log in to FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com.
- Click Preferences above Billing Details section.
- In the International Preferences section, check the Enable Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) box. If you agree to the terms and conditions, click I agree.
- Upload a letterhead and signature file. You’ll need them for most customs documents.
- Click Save changes.
- Once you’ve established your international preferences in FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com, select the Customs tab.
- In the Customs Documentation section, choose to let FedEx generate your paperwork or to upload your own.
- To upload additional trade documents, check the box to add your own documents or to have FedEx create a packing list or Certificate of Origin.
- Complete your FedEx Electronic Trade Documents shipment by clicking Ship.
- On the label page, you should see a small “ETD” on the label. You can click View to view and print a PDF of the documents.

1. Log in to FedEx Developer Resource Center.
2. Select “Learn more about FedEx Ship Manager Server” or “FedEx Ship Manager Server” on the left panel.
3. Click on “Move to documentation” under “2) Documentation.” You will need to log in with your fedex.com username and password if you are not already logged in.
4. Download the latest version of the “FedEx Ship Manager Server Installation and Configuration Guide.” Review the section on FedEx Electronic Trade Documents.
