Value-added services and surcharges
Our value-added services let you customise our FedEx services to your specific needs. Non-standard shipments or additional services provided may incur surcharges on top of standard transportation costs.
Our value-added services and surcharges PDF remains the same for 2024 – including amounts of existing surcharges, except for the following updates:

We are updating the way we calculate our Additional Handling Surcharges. Beginning 15th of April 2024, parcel surcharges will be calculated per package and freight surcharges per freight handling unit.*

Additional Handling Surcharges apply when a shipment requires special handling or additional packaging during transit. To avoid them, please see our packaging guidelines. Questions? Please refer to our FAQ.
*A “package” is one piece of a multi-piece shipment. A ”freight handling unit” is an individual unit requiring loading, e.g. each pallet within a freight shipment.
Shipments picked up or delivered to remote and less accessible locations are assessed an Out-of-Pickup-Area (OPA) or Out-of-Delivery-Area (ODA) surcharge.
