The fuel surcharge percentage for FedEx services is subject to weekly adjustment based on the weekly published U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel.
The fuel surcharge applies to all FedEx services, except FedEx International Express Freight® (IXF) and FedEx International Airport-to-Airport (ATA) services. FedEx International Express Freight® (IXF) and FedEx International Airport-to-Airport (ATA) services are assessing different fuel surcharge, please contact your Sales Representative for details.
Effective January 13, 2025, the following surcharges will be added to the list of fuel-applicable surcharges: Address Correction, Accessible Dangerous Goods, Inaccessible Dangerous Goods and Dry Ice Surcharge.
The fuel surcharge for each shipment is assessed on the net freight charge and the following transportation-related surcharges (if applicable):
- Accessible Dangerous Goods;
- Address Correction;
- Additional Handling Surcharge - Dimension;
- Additional Handling Surcharge - Weight;
- Additional Handling Surcharge - Packaging;
- Additional Handling Surcharge - Freight;
- Broker Routing Fee (Broker Select);
- Demand Surcharge;
- Dry Ice Surcharge;
- Inaccessible Dangerous Goods;
- Non-Stackable Surcharge;
- Residential Delivery Surcharge (RESI);
- Saturday Delivery (SDL);
- Saturday Pickup (SPU);
- Signature Surcharge (ISR, DSR, ASR);
- Out of Delivery Area (ODA);
- Out of Pickup Area (OPA); and
- Oversize Charge.
Terms and Conditions
FedEx reserves the right to assess fuel and other surcharges on shipments without notice. The amount and duration of any such surcharges will be determined at our sole discretion. By tendering your shipments to FedEx, you agree to pay the surcharges, as determined by FedEx.

Note: There is a two-week lag between the fuel price index and the fuel surcharge. FedEx may use a longer lag when the fuel price posted on eia.gov is delayed.The fuel surcharge percentage applies to Export, ImportOne* and Global Third-Party# shipments.
* For customers who have registered for the ImportOne service only. For other customers, an export fuel surcharge based on the originating country/ territory is applied on inbound shipments.
# For customers who have registered for the global third-party service only. For other customers, an export fuel surcharge based on the originating country/ territory is applied on third-party shipments.
Fuel surcharge percentages and associated trigger points are subject to change without notice. See the Terms and Conditions for more details. If the fuel price rises above the maximum value or drops below minimum value, the table above will be updated.
Changes to the FedEx fuel surcharges will be applied every Monday and reflected in your FedEx invoice.
