Air waybill (AWB) meaning
An Air Waybill (AWB) is a contract between the shipper and the air carrier, serving as a formal agreement for transporting goods.
Unlike bill of lading (BOL), an AWB is a non-negotiable document. It also known as a consignment note to service as receipt of goods by carriers.
It contains destination address, carrier information, a description of the goods, and contact information for the sender (consignor), receiver (consignee), and any additional party to be notified.
The FedEx AWB includes a 12-digit tag specific to the shipment.
What is my air waybill number?
An AWB number is the same as a tracking code number. You can usually find it on the shipping label attached to the exterior of the package. Find the online AWB tracking here.
