The fuel surcharge rate for FedEx Express^® services applies to FedEx Express International export and import transportation charges¹ published in Europe.

¹The international fuel surcharge does not apply to FedEx^® Regional Economy and FedEx^® Regional Economy Freight. For these two services, please refer to the regional fuel surcharge section below.

As of 22 August 2022, the fuel surcharge for each FedEx Express international shipment is assessed on the net transportation rate and the following transportation-related surcharges:

• FedEx International Broker Select Option;
• Extended Area Service (Out-of-Pickup-Area or Out-of-Delivery-Area surcharge);
• Saturday Delivery;
• Additional Handling Surcharge Dimension
• Additional Handling Surcharge Packaging
• Additional Handling Surcharge Weight
• Additional Handling Surcharge Freight
• Oversize Charge;
• Non-Stackable Surcharge;
• FedEx^® Delivery Signature Options; and
• Demand Surcharge (formerly called Peak Surcharge)

As of 16 January 2023, the applicable Additional Handling Surcharge (Packaging or Weight) will be factored in when assessing the fuel surcharge for each FedEx Express shipment.

The index based fuel-surcharge for UK National shipments is based on the monthly average forecourt price of Diesel, as published by the UK National Statistics and is inclusive of duties and taxes applicable in the UK. To download the latest monthly data from their website please click here.

The table below shows the average UK diesel price bands and their corresponding fuel surcharge levels. Please be aware that there will be a one month lag in the application of the index. For example the monthly average price of diesel as published by the UK National Statistics relating to December, will be used to determine the applicable fuel surcharge for February.

Please be aware that we previously used the monthly average price of diesel as published by the AA until June 2024 where we now use the UK National Statistics.
