Shipping tools
To enjoy the new services from the launch day, you will have to ship using the latest versions of our tools.
- For online shipping
If you’re shipping online, this means using the new FedEx Ship Manager™ at fedex.com. All you need to do is sign in to fedex.com with your ID and password and create a shipment. If your chosen destination and shipment type are eligible for the service, it will show up as an option for you to select.
In case you land on the old version of FedEx Ship Manager™ at fedex.com, please go to the new version.
If you’re new to online shipping and do not have an ID and password associated with your FedEx account yet, click here to create one. Log out and log in again to make sure that your new ID and password are activated on the updated online tool. Then start shipping.
- For FedEx Web Services shipping:
Please note that FedEx Web Services has been placed into ‘development containment’. This means we’re stopping releasing new functionalities and security enhancement on FedEx Web Services and, over time, we’re planning to end support. Future enhancements will only become available on our modernized FedEx APIs. To ensure continuity of your integration with FedEx capabilities, your migration to the new FedEx APIs is necessary. We advise you to plan, prioritise and initiate your migration.
The FedEx Developer Portal can guide you through every step in the integration process – from browsing the API catalogue to determine what you need for your application all the way through completing your integration.
If you are unable to migrate to FedEx APIs by the time our new domestic services launch, you can ship domestic with FedEx Web Services version WSXI3600 or above. You will then need to add the new service types as of the day the new services launch to be able to see the new services:
FEDEX_FIRST
FEDEX_PRIORITY_EXPRESS
FEDEX_PRIORITY
FEDEX_PRIORITY_EXPRESS_FREIGHT
FEDEX_PRIORITY_FREIGHTIf you are unsure on how to add the new service types, this can be found by using the user guide below for webservices which provides clear instructions.
- For offline shipping
If you’re shipping offline, this means using FedEx Ship Manager® Software version 23.07* which was released in October 2023.
If you are using FedEx Ship Manager Server, then we strongly advise to upgrade to version FXRS v20.07**.
- For shipping as an integrated customer
If you’re an integrated customer, this means using FedEx Web Services WSXI3600 or above, FedEx Ship Manager® Software as from version 23.07* and/or FedEx Ship Manager® Server version FXRS v20.07**.
* Please note that certain surcharges might not show accurately in this version. This is expected to be resolved in a future version of the software. For details on your rates and surcharges please contact your FedEx Account Executive or FedEx Customer Service.
** Please note that your new domestic rates and surcharges do not yet show accurately in this version. Rate quotes will be blank/zero and you might get a rate quote exception warning. This does not have any impact on your shipping process. This bug is expected to be resolved in the next version 20.08. For details on your rates and surcharges please contact your FedEx Account Executive or FedEx Customer Service.
Whether you’re shipping online or offline, new services will display in your shipping tool upon availability, together with any other FedEx services.
Please note: if you do not yet use any of the shipping solutions as recommended above, you will still be able to see and select for shipping the old domestic product code for FedEx Priority Overnight. This will be converted for billing purposes to the equivalent new domestic product and subsequent rate.
No, you will not be able to use our new domestic services with these tools.
Thus, we do not recommend that you revert to these shipping tools as they will be retired over time. This is to make way for the most up-to-date technology and provide you with enhanced features to support your shipping needs.
Please note: if you continue using these tools, you will still see and be able to select for shipping the old domestic product code for FedEx Priority Overnight. This will then be converted for billing purposes to the equivalent new domestic product and subsequent rate.
You can contact your dedicated Sales or Customer Technology representatives for further assistance regarding the new services.
Unfortunately not. You can only access the new services on the latest versions of our shipping tools as described above.

The fuel surcharge percentage for new FedEx Domestic services is subject to weekly adjustment based on a rounded average of the Automotive Gas Oil prices with taxes from the EU country zone as published by The European Commission, Department of Transport & Energy.

No, there will be no change to your payment or credit terms.
We update our terms and conditions of carriage from time to time, and you can always find the latest version on fedex.com. Notification of changes will be provided as legally required. If you have a contract with us, save for your rates (see above), this will not change as a result of the introduction of our new services.
Here’s how to calculate the DIM weight (also known as volumetric or cubed weight) for your FedEx domestic shipments:
Length* x Height x Width (in cm) / 5000**
! Round each measurement to the next whole number.
Example:
Actual weight: 60kgs and Dimensions: L = 80cm, H = 70cm, W = 60cm
DIM Weight = 80 x 70 x 60 / 5000*** = 67.2kgs
In this example, the dimensional weight is greater than the actual weight of the package, so DIM weight will be used for rating the shipment.
For more information about DIM weight, head over to this page or speak to your Sales representative.
* Length is defined as the longest side of the package.
** Reflects the default DIM value; this may vary by country and/or by customer.
*** Each measurement shall be rounded to the next whole number.
