Temporary Peak Surcharge
Temporary Peak Surcharge
Global supply chains have been disrupted due to current market conditions. However, FedEx Express continues to operate outbound and inbound flights from/to China as local conditions and restrictions allow, in order to provide stable and high-quality service to our customers.
Flight cancellations of several passenger and cargo airlines is creating a very tight capacity environment for China outbound shipments. Concurrently, the return to normal production activity with the resumption of work in many areas in China is fueling a significant increase in demand for outbound cargo from China. In order to manage the elevated freight demand and limited capacity and to ensure that we maintain high quality service, FedEx is implementing a Temporary Peak Surcharge for some customers on outbound shipments from China to destinations in North America1 and Europe 2. This surcharge will allow us to cover the increase in our operating cost and make the necessary network adjustments to continue providing our customers with the best possible service during this time of market volatility.
