Radio Apparatus and Electronic Equipment
Radio Apparatus and Electronic Equipment
Prior to importation, distribution, lease, or sale in Canada, radio communication and telecommunication equipment must meet Industry Canada’s technical standards, have certification if required, and be labelled accordingly.
Canada’s Radiocommunication Act and Radiocommunication Regulations state that manufacturers, importers, distributors, and sellers of radio apparatus, interference-causing equipment, or radio-sensitive equipment must ensure Canadian regulatory compliance.
Non-compliance with the import regulations may result in clearance delays, enforcement action and/or penalties, and charges under the Radiocommunication Act which includes fines and/or jail time.
