Effective immediately, all nondocument shipments imported into Ecuador, regardless of value or weight, require the consignee’s Tax ID number (RUC or Cedula number). If the consignee does not have a Tax ID number, their passport number is required.

Shipments that have a missing or incorrect Tax ID number will be subject to customs delays until the number is obtained. To avoid clearance delays, it is strongly recommended that shippers include the consignee’s Tax ID number on the air waybill and Commercial Invoice. (Do not include the consignee’s passport number – this will be requested in Ecuador, if required.)
