Effective Jan. 13, 2025:

Intra-CA and international packages that meet the criteria of Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension will be subject to a 40-lb (18 kg) minimum billable weight. International packages that meet the criteria of both the Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension and Oversize Charge will be subject to a 40-lb (18 kg) minimum billable weight. Other Additional Handling Surcharge/Oversize Charge assessment criteria currently used to determine the applicability of these surcharges remain unchanged. A U.S. Inbound Processing Fee will be applied to all U.S.-destined shipments in connection with the processing of those shipments for clearance. See the FedEx Express Rate Guide for details. Please note that the FedEx® International Connect Plus service is excluded.

Please note that the 2024 rate and surcharge changes will be automatically updated for customers obtaining courtesy rate quotes using FedEx Ship Manager™ at fedex.ca, FedEx Ship Manager Lite, FedEx Web Services (including FedEx Compatible), and the Get Rates and Transit Times application.

FedEx Ship Manager Hardware/Software and FedEx Ship Manager™ Server applications will also provide the updated 2024 rates automatically. However, customers are encouraged to update to the latest version when it becomes available in February 2024. The update will be available as soon as the software communicates with FedEx. If you encounter an issue with the update, please contact the Technical Support Hotline at 1.877.339.2774.

FedEx Compatible Solutions Program customers using Web Services will receive the 2024 rate update automatically. Compatible customers using the FedEx Ship Manager™ Server application will also receive the updated 2024 rates automatically. However, customers are encouraged to update to the latest version when it becomes available in February 2024. The update will be available as soon as the software communicates with FedEx. If there is an issue with the 2024 rate update, customers should contact their Compatible provider for support.

FedEx Freight Changes

Rate change affects the FXF PZONE, FXF EZONE, FXF 1000, FXF 501, FXFC 1100 and other related series base rates. The effect of the rate increase will vary for individual shippers and shipments, based on such factors as geography, lane and service.
Rate change applies to eligible FedEx Freight shipments within Canada, between the contiguous U.S. and Canada, within the U.S. (including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands), between the contiguous U.S. and Mexico and within Mexico. Additional changes will include absolute minimum charges and optional and additional service fees and charges.

The following optional and additional charge changes will take effect Jan. 6, 2025, unless otherwise noted:¹

Sept. 2, 2021 Update

FedEx Freight implemented the Peak Surcharge on July 5, 2021 due to elevated volumes, high demand for capacity, and increased operating costs across our network.

To provide our customers with the best possible service during this challenging time, the FedEx Freight Peak Surcharge will be updated to include shipments destined to the ZIP codes listed here effective September 27, 2021. The charge will be assessed based on the tier classification of the destination ZIP code as indicated on the Peak Surcharge table below.

FedEx has kept commerce moving and delivered critical shipments throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The impact of the virus continues to generate elevated volumes, high demand for capacity, and increased operating costs across our network.

To provide our customers with the best possible service during this challenging time, the following FedEx Freight Peak Surcharge will be implemented for shipments destined to the ZIP codes listed here.

Customers at the enterprise level who meet a certain volume threshold (as indicated below) will be charged a Demand — Residential Delivery Charge for shipments/packages shipped during Oct. 28, 2024 – Jan. 19, 2025. The scope of a customer's volume shall be determined by FedEx in its sole discretion. The Demand — Residential Delivery Charge will be assessed in addition to the customer’s Residential Delivery Charge. Any contracted discount the customer may have on the Residential Delivery Charge will not apply to the Demand — Residential Delivery Charge. For invoicing purposes, this charge will be combined with the customer’s Residential Delivery Charge.

For customers who ship more than 7,000 weekly average packages (total for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Canada domestic residential and commercial combined) from Sept. 30, 2024 – Oct. 13, 2024*, the Demand — Residential Delivery Charge reflected in the chart below will apply Oct. 28, 2024 – Dec. 8, 2024. The amount charged will be based on a Demand Factor, calculated as weekly average packages shipped Sept. 30, 2024 – Oct. 13, 2024, divided by weekly average packages shipped June 3, 2024 – June 30, 2024, multiplied by 100. Demand Factor and amount charged are determined separately for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground.

*For weeks with holidays, weekly average value will be prorated based on the FedEx normal operating days during non-holiday weeks.

Effective January 18, 2021, for customers who shipped more than 7,000 weekly average packages (total for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Canada domestic residential and commercial combined) during the month of December 2020*, the Demand — Residential Delivery Charge below will apply.
FedEx will assess the surcharge for qualifying customers every month thereafter until further notice. The surcharge will be assessed for customers who shipped more than 7,000 weekly average packages (total for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Canada domestic residential and commercial combined) in the previous month, and it will be applied effective the 15^th of that month. For example, in the month of February 2021, FedEx will assess qualifying customers based on their volume in the month of January 2021, and it will be applied effective Feb. 15, 2021.
