Operational delay
Operational delays occur for a variety of reasons; the following are some examples:
- Incorrect recipient addressÂ
- Incorrect recipient postal code
- Missing address information (including buzzer code or apartment number)
- Other events that delay delivery of the package

If your package status is 'Operational delay':
- If additional information or action is required, FedEx may attempt to contact the party most likely able to provide the information or take action
- Continue to keep tabs on your package with regular status updates. Learn how you can set up tracking alerts and delivery notifications.

If the package status remains unchanged:
For FedEx Express® Intra-Canada and International Shipments and for FedEx Ground® Intra-Canada shipments:
If the last tracking update is older than 7 calendar days, then file a claim for a lost shipment here.
For FedEx Ground® International shipments:
If the last tracking update is older than 30 calendar days, then file a claim for a lost shipment here.
