The "FedEx^® Holiday Bonus Sweepstakes" (the "Sweepstakes") is being conducted by Federal Express Canada Corporation ("FedEx" or “Sponsor”) and consists of randomly selected entries for the Prizes listed below.

The Sweepstakes entry period commences at 12:01 am Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 13, 2023 and concludes at 11:59 pm ET on December 22, 2023 (the “Sweepstakes Period”).

1. HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

No purchase necessary. To be eligible for the Sweepstakes, a person must be a legal resident of Canada who has reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside and who have a FedEx account in good standing at the time of entry.  The Sweepstakes is also open to businesses that are lawfully registered and operated in Canada and that have a FedEx account in good standing at the time of entry. The business owners or authorized employees who enter on behalf of the business must be legal residents of Canada who have reached the age of majority in the province or territory in which they reside at the date of entry. Employees, representatives, or agents of, or persons living in the same household as employees, representatives, or agents of, Federal Express Canada Corporation or any of their affiliated operating companies, agents or advertising and promotional agencies are ineligible. 

How to Enter: Eligible participants can register at fedex.ca/holidaybonus by completing all required fields of the onscreen registration form, including providing your individual or business FedEx account number. Limit one Participant per FedEx account number. By registering a FedEx account number as an individual or as a business you affirm and acknowledge that you are an owner or authorized representative of the FedEx account number and are authorized to enter using such account number. FedEx account holders who receive an individualized invitation to the Sweepstakes directly from FedEx may be automatically registered in the Sweepstakes without completing the registration form.

Registered contestants are eligible to earn one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for every eligible FedEx Express or FedEx Ground pre-labelled package dropped-off at a participating Staples store in Canada (“Eligible Transactions”). In order to qualify as an Eligible Transaction, a qualifying shipment must be billed to the FedEx account number that was registered for the Sweepstakes and is in good standing. For purposes of the Sweepstakes, eligible services include FedEx First Overnight^®, FedEx Priority Overnight^®, FedEx Standard Overnight^™, FedEx 2Day^®, FedEx Economy^®, FedEx Ground^®, FedEx International First^®, FedEx International Priority^® Express, FedEx International Priority^®, FedEx^® International Economy, and FedEx International Ground^™. Shipments processed at a Staples location using a Staples retail shipping account are not eligible.

No Purchase Method of Entries: To enter the Sweepstakes without completing an Eligible Transaction submit your hand-printed name, address, city, province or territory, postal code, telephone number, email address, and a unique and original 50-word or more handwritten essay on "Your experience with FedEx services", and mail in a postage stamped envelope to: " “FedEx^® Holiday Bonus” Sweepstakes, 15 Densley Ave, Toronto, ON, M6M 2P5. Limit of one (1) unique, mail-in, entry per person during the Sweepstakes Period. All no purchase entries must be received by the Sweepstakes deadline to be considered valid. No mechanical reproductions permitted. All entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged. 

NOTE: Use (or attempted use) of multiple names, identities, and/or any automated, macro, script, robotic or other systems(s) or program(s) to enter or otherwise participate in or disrupt this Sweepstakes is prohibited and is grounds for disqualification by FedEx. Each entrant acknowledges and agrees that the Sweepstakes is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Staples Canada ULC.

By participating in the Sweepstakes, you agree to be bound by the provisions set out in these Rules and you warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set out herein.

All entries must be received by 11:59 pm ET on December 22, 2023 to be eligible.
 

2. THE RANDOM DRAW:

Potential winners will be selected in a random draw held at approximately 12:00 pm EST on January 22, 2024, from all eligible entries by SVS Marketing located at 15 Densley Avenue, Toronto, ON Canada, M6M 2P5.

The odds of being selected for the Random Draw will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period for the Random Draw.

3. PRIZES:

Prizing with an approximate combined retail value of $14,500 CDN is available to be won, consisting of: One (1) $5000.00 CDN Cash Award. Two (2) $2500.00 Staples^® gift cards. The following, sponsor specified, prizes will be available to be won: Three (3) Portable Home Speaker with an approximate retail value of $549.00. Three (3) Sets of Wireless Earbuds each with an approximate retail value of $379.00. Two (2) Smart Watches each with an approximate retail value of $299.00. Two (2) Gaming Consoles each with an approximate retail value of $429.00. Two (2) 21” Hard sided Carry-On luggage with an approximate retail value of $279.00. 

Participants are only eligible to win one prize in the Sweepstakes.

4. CONDITIONAL WINNER:

The selected entrants (“Conditional Winners”) will be the entrants whose names appear on the entries selected at random. FedEx account must be in good standing, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. 

Conditional Winners will receive an email or phone call from SVS Marketing, the Sweepstakes administrator, within two (2) business days of being declared a Conditional Winner, unless it takes FedEx longer to verify the eligibility of the Conditional Winner.

In all cases, Conditional Winners will be notified via email or phone and must confirm their identity and provide their mailing address. FedEx reserves the right to post the name of the Conditional Winners. If any Conditional Winner cannot be contacted and the skill-testing question administered within fourteen (14) days, an alternate winner (an "Alternate Conditional Winner") may be selected to receive the applicable prize (who will be contacted, and will be subject to disqualification, in the same manner). If a selected entrant is unable to be contacted after three (3) attempts, or does not respond to correspondence within five (5) business days, he/she forfeits the prize and another entrant may, at the sole discretion of FedEx Express Canada, be selected to receive that prize. Conditional Winners will be required to answer a time-limited mathematical skill testing question before being declared a winner. Conditional Winners must correctly answer the skill-testing question without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, must be in compliance with these Rules and may be required to sign FedEx's form of consent, release, and indemnity, which would include consent to the use of his/her name, city and/or photograph without further compensation in any publicity relating to the Sweepstakes. If any required information or documents are not returned within the specified time period, prize notification is returned as undeliverable, or a Conditional Winner is not in compliance with these Rules and Regulations, the applicable prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner selected.
 

5. GENERAL RULES:

No communication will be entered into by FedEx except with an entrant deemed to be a Conditional or Alternate Conditional Winner.

No responsibility will be taken for an entry, prize winning notification, or a claim for a prize which is lost, misdirected, or delayed for any reason.

A winner of a prize assumes responsibility for any and all damages, losses or injuries of any kind that may arise in connection with the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize.  Prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-refundable and are not convertible to cash. Prizes are nontransferable and no substitution is allowed, except by FedEx who reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if a prize described above is unavailable for any reason. FedEx does not endorse any product offered as a prize and is not responsible for the availability or performance of such products. A winner of a prize may not initiate any claim or demand against FedEx, its affiliates, agents or advertising and promotional agencies arising from the use of a prize. FEDEX EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES AND CONDITIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, REGARDING THE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES AWARDED AS PRIZES. FedEx, its affiliates, agents and advertising and promotional agencies assume no responsibility or liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize. Any federal, provincial, or other taxes on a prize are the responsibility of the winner.

Without limitation FedEx will not be liable for any failure of the fedex.com, fedex.ca or other websites during the Sweepstakes; for any technical malfunction or other problem relating to the telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software; for the failure of any entry to be received by FedEx for any reason including, but not limited to, technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any website; or for any combination of the above. FedEx will also not be liable for any injury or damage to a  contestant’s/entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participating or downloading any material in the Sweepstakes.

FedEx reserves the right to withdraw or amend the Sweepstakes in any way and for any reason, including, but not limited to an event of an error, technical problem, computer virus, bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failure, or any other cause of any kind beyond the reasonable control of FedEx. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and should such an attempt be made, FedEx reserves the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.

The terms of the FedEx Privacy Policy and Privacy Code, available at fedex.ca are incorporated herein by reference.

RESIDENTS OF QUÉBEC: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity Sweepstakes may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
