Sender and recipient
When creating a shipment, your address details are used as the sender address by default.
To change the sender information, follow these steps:
- In the From section, click on edit.
- You can choose to select a different sender from your address book, or enter all required information for a new sender.
In case the pickup address is not the same as the sender contact details, follow these steps to add an alternative pickup address:
- In the From section, click on edit next to Pickup address and contact same as above.
- Enter all required information for the alternative pickup address.
You can enter recipient information by selecting a contact from your address book or by entering all required information manually.
To select an address from your address book, follow these steps:
- In the To section, start typing a contact name from a contact in your address book. Alternatively you can open your address book by clicking on Address Book next to the contact name field.
- Select the contact you want to ship to. The information will load in the To section.
Note: For FedEx Express and FedEx Ground packages cannot be delivered to P.O. boxes or P.O. box ZIP codes in the U.S. and Canada. Package addresses must include the complete street address and ZIP code of the recipient. Generally speaking, however, international FedEx Express shipments addressed to a P.O. box are acceptable for most countries served by FedEx.
If you want to reuse recipient information in future shipments, you can save the recipient information in your address book.
Follow these steps to save a contact in your address book:
- In the To section, enter all required information.
- Select the checkbox next to Save as new recipient in address book.
- Complete your shipment. The recipient is now stored in your address book.
Select this option to indicate that you are shipping to a residential address instead of a business address. Residential delivery means a shipment addressed to a home or private residence, including locations where a business is operated from the home, and/or a shipment in which the shipper has designated the delivery address as residential.
Residential deliveries for most shipments no longer require a signature unless you select FedEx® Delivery Signature Options.
Recipient postal codes are required when shipping to certain countries. Using postal codes helps minimize delays and routes packages to their destinations more efficiently.
