FedEx charges a handling fee per shipment based on weight for physically moving your shipment in and out of the local clearance facility. Local Clarification Statement: This includes Split Clearance Charge, Disposal Handling Charge & Fee.

Duty and Tax Amendment

Amendment: 9,900JPY  / Air Waybill (including tax)

Correction: 13,200JPY  / Air Waybill (including tax)

Applied when a customer disputes Duties and Tax amounts. FedEx will apply a fee to amend the original, inaccurate information on entry documentation provided by customer. Local Clarification Statement: This include Amendment of Customs paperwork and Correction of Customs paperwork.

Customized Service

Additional fee may be charged if special service 

FedEx can provide additional services such as creating specific reports, opening/labeling packages. Both FedEx and the payer have to agree on the hourly expenses before this service can be applied .

Import Permits and Licenses

12,000JPY/application

FedEx will apply a fee for obtaining or renewing the import permit or license as required by local regulatory body. Local Clarification Statement: This include Food Sanitation Application Charge

Additional Entry Line Items

First 1-5 items is free of charge

 

500JPY for the sixth (6) line items

 

300JPY per line over six (6) lines

A shipment may require additional tariff classification if 1) it has one or more tariff classifications beyond the Free Lines limit in the published charges; or 2) An identical commodity was manufactured in more than one country; or 3) Multiple Commercial Invoices tendered to customs require an individual tariff classification for each invoice; or 4) You request a separate line entry for each item in the shipment.
Disbursement Fee

2% or 1000JPY, whichever is higher

We may disburse any applicable duties, taxes and other regulatory charges on your behalf, to ensure timely payment to the customs agency. The payer is responsible for the total amount disbursed, plus an additional fee as published in the charges.
Inspection Fee
7,000JPY/1hour
* Charge upon customer or customs requesting contents inspection for verifying shape, quantity, material, country of origin, etc.  (ex. purposing for Re-import tax exemption declaration)

FedEx will pass on the charges received when a shipment is selected for physical examination by customer or government agency.(Including both import and export)

Plant and Animal Quarantines

8,000JPY/Application

4,000JPY/30minutes (Inspection)  

FedEx will charge a fee for services related to permit application or inspection of quarantine items as required by local regulatory body.
Export-Post Amendment
5,000JPY/Airwaybill

At your request, FedEx will submit an Entry Adjustment to correct an entry on any previous information you had provided.

Storage

FedEx charges a storage fee for inbound shipments after 3 working days from arrival. Each additional working day is calculated at a price of 14JPY per kilogram with the actual weight as the calculation basis, or 840JPY per shipment, whichever is greater.

We may assess a storage fee if a shipment remains uncleared in the FedEx bonded facility beyond the time limit published in the charges.
Fees are listed in Japanese Yen. They are assessed per shipment unless otherwise noted. Applicable ancillary clearance service fees are subject to VAT/GST
