FedEx package shipping fee changes
The following fee changes will take effect for FedEx package shipping services. Please check your FedEx shipping agreement to determine the net impact of these changes on your shipping costs.
Effective Jan. 13, 2025
- All U.S. and international packages that meet the criteria of Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension will be subject to a 40-lb. minimum billable weight. International packages that meet the criteria of both the Additional Handling Surcharge – Dimension and Oversize Charge will be subject to a 40-lb. minimum billable weight. Other Additional Handling Surcharge/Oversize Charge assessment criteria currently used to determine the applicability of these surcharges remain unchanged. - A U.S. Inbound Processing Fee will be assessed on U.S. import shipments in connection with the processing of those shipments for clearance. See the FedEx Service Guide for details.
- A Duty and Tax Forwarding Fee will apply if the shipper selects a third party billing option in which duties and taxes are to be paid outside of the destination country. This fee will be assessed in lieu of the Disbursement Fee. See the FedEx Service Guide for more information.
- Additional surcharges will be included on the list of fuel-applicable surcharges for U.S. export and import package services. See the Additional information section of the fuel surcharge page for details.
- There will be changes to the Delivery Area Surcharge ZIP code lists for FedEx U.S. package services.

Effective Jan. 6, 2025
- There will be changes to shipping surcharges and fees that may apply to your shipment and affect your total shipping rate. View 2025 surcharge and fee changes.
- Holiday Demand Surcharges are effective Sept. 30, 2024–Jan. 19, 2025. FedEx does not plan on implementing U.S. domestic Demand Surcharges outside of this time period, but will continue to monitor network and market conditions closely.
