U.S. fuel surcharges
Fuel surcharge is subject to weekly adjustment.
The fuel surcharge for FedEx Ground®, FedEx Home Delivery®, FedEx International Ground®, and FedEx Freight® services is based on the weekly published national U.S. on-highway average price for a gallon of diesel fuel.*
The fuel surcharge for all other services is based on the weekly published U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel.*
*Notwithstanding any information provided herein, the customer agreement is the final authority for all matters related to the customer’s fuel surcharge calculation and the frequency of the calculation adjustment.

*If the fuel price posted on eia.gov is received after Monday, then the effective date and the FedEx Freight fuel surcharge displayed on this page will be delayed.
The U.S. Department of Energy fuel index is updated on the first business day of each week. The applicable surcharge will become effective on the Wednesday immediately following for rating purposes.
The fuel surcharge rate for FedEx Freight services applies as specified in Item 570 of the FXF 100 Series Rules Tariff.
Changes to the FedEx fuel surcharge will be applied weekly. The surcharge will be reflected on your FedEx invoice.

For FedEx Ground, FedEx Home Delivery, and FedEx International Ground shipments, the related fuel surcharge is assessed on the net package rate plus the following applicable surcharges: Additional Handling Surcharge, FedEx Ground® Call Tag, Delivery Area Surcharge, FedEx® Delivery Signature Options, FedEx Home Delivery® Convenient Delivery Options, Northern Canada Surcharge, Ground On-Call Pickup, Oversize Charge, Demand — Additional Handling Surcharge, Demand — Ground Unauthorized Package Charge, Demand — Oversize Charge, Demand — Residential Delivery Charge, Ground Unauthorized Package Charge, Residential Delivery Charge, Return Pickup, and any temporary surcharge(s) currently in effect. This list may be amended or augmented without notice.
For other FedEx package and express freight shipments, excluding shipments where a weight-based calculation is used, the related fuel surcharge is assessed on the net package rate plus the following applicable surcharges: Accessible Dangerous Goods, Additional Handling Surcharge, Demand – Additional Handling Surcharge, Additional Handling Surcharge – Non-stackable, Address Correction, Broker Select Option Fee, Express On-Call Pickup Charge (Courier Pickup Charge), Delivery Area Surcharge, Delivery Reattempt Charge, Demand Surcharge, Extended Service Area Delivery, Dry Ice, Extended Service Area Pickup, FedEx® Delivery Signature Options, FedEx ExpressTag®, Hazardous Materials, Inaccessible Dangerous Goods, International Out-of-Delivery-Area Surcharge, International Out-of-Pickup-Area Surcharge, Metro Service Area Delivery, Metro Service Area Pickup, Oversize Charge, Demand — Oversize Charge, Pickup Charge (FedEx International Premium), Reroute of Shipment, Residential Delivery Charge, Demand — Residential Delivery Charge, Residential Pickup Charge, Return Pickup, Saturday Delivery, Saturday Pickup, and any temporary surcharge(s) currently in effect. Effective Jan. 13, 2025, the following surcharges will be added to the list of fuel-applicable surcharges for U.S. export and import shipments: Address Correction, Accessible Dangerous Goods, Inaccessible Dangerous Goods, and Dry Ice.
For FedEx express freight shipments where a weight-based calculation is used, the related fuel surcharge is assessed on the billable weight of the shipment. Billable weight may include additional deficit weight when applicable.
For FedEx Freight shipments, the related fuel surcharge is assessed on all rates and charges for linehaul transportation, and other services which consume fuel, in tariffs or contracts making reference to Item 570 of the FXF 100 Series Rules Tariff.
