You must close all open Microsoft Office applications before you can install or update File, Print FedEx Kinko's. The installation will not be able to complete if you do not.
Microsoft Office applications that must be closed include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Access, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft InfoPath, and Microsoft Publisher.
Standalone applications such as Microsoft Instant Messenger and Microsoft OneNote that have Microsoft Office tie-ins may need to be shut down before you can install or update File, Print FedEx Kinko's.

However, in some corporate environments, administrative privileges may be restricted. File, Print FedEx Kinko's requires administrative privileges because it must access Windows system folders and files during the installation process.

To see whether you have administrative privileges on your computer, open the Windows Control Panel, right-click on User Accounts (Windows XP) or Users and Passwords (Windows 2000) and select Open. Select the Users tab. If Administrators is displayed in the Group column for your user name, then you have administrative privileges. If you try to install File, Print FedEx Kinko's and do not have administrative privileges, the installation will halt and a message will be displayed. Contact your system administrator or IT department if you cannot install File, Print FedEx Kinko's because you do not have administrative privileges on your computer.

If you downloaded File, Print FedEx Kinko's on or after October 17, 2005, you can submit mulitple files in the same order. If you downloaded File, Print FedEx Kinko's before October 17, 2005, your version does not support this feature. To send multiple files in a single order, you will need to upgrade to File, Print FedEx Kinko's 2.0. Click here to download the latest version of File, Print FedEx Kinko's.
Once you create and preview your print job, you will have the opportunity to submit additional files. The file(s) in your order will be listed in the 'Order' box. Click the "Add Another Print Job" button located beneath the 'Order' box to add additional files to your order.

Please follow the steps below to ensure there are no Microsoft Office applications running:
- Click Ctrl+Alt+Delete
- Open the Windows Task Manager
- In the "Applications" tab verify that no Microsoft Office applications are running. If any are, highlight each and click the "End Task" button.
- In the "Processes" tab verify that no Microsoft Office processes are running. If any are, highlight each and click the "End Process" button. Processes that may be open include: outlook.exe, visio.exe, winproj.exe, msaccess.exe, onenote.exe, infopath.exe, mspub.exe and msnmsgr.exe.
- I've closed Outlook, but I'm still receiving an installation error. What could be happening?

There are several issues that could prevent Outlook from shutting down completely. Most likely, there is a third-party program that interacts with Outlook and is preventing a complete shut-down. The following is a list of programs that have, at time, been known to cause this issue:

File, Print FedEx Kinko's software may not download if pop-up blocker software is enabled. Before downloading File, Print FedEx Kinko's, we recommend that you temporarily disable any pop-up blocker software residing on your PC.
- General Troubleshooting - Why am I getting an unhandled exception error when I try to place an order?

Some customers have experienced an unhandled exception error while trying to place an order using File, Print FedEx Kinko's. This error prevents the customer from completing the order.
A software patch has been created and is available for download on the FedEx Office website. This error occurs only in some versions of File, Print FedEx Kinko's. The effected versions are:
2.0.1747
2.0.1749
2.0.1750
To find out what version of File, Print FedEx Kinko's operates on your PC, launch File, Print FedEx Kinko's, then press CTRL-ALT-V.
If you have version 2.0.1747 or 2.0.1749, you will need to uninstall your current version of File, Print FedEx Kinko's and reinstall the latest version which contains the software patch. Click here to download the new version.
To uninstall File, Print FedEx Kinko's:- Open the Windows Control Panel. Steps for accessing the Control Panel vary, depending on the version of Microsoft Windows that you are running. On Windows 2000 systems, you can select Start > Settings > Control Panel to access the Windows Control Panel.

This can occur if the Print to file option is enabled in the Windows Print dialog. Try printing your document again and make sure that Print to file is disabled (unchecked).
- Why do I get an error when I try to print a PDF file with File, Print FedEx Kinko's?

In some cases, users attempting to print a PDF file with File, Print FedEx Kinko's can get an error that reads "An error was detected. The PDF file has not been generated."
This error can occur if you attempt to print a PDF file that contains PostScript 1.5 generated by Adobe Acrobat 6 or unsupported PostScript commands.
If you have access to the original source file from which the PostScript was generated and it was created with a Microsoft Windows compatible application, try printing the original file to File, Print FedEx Kinko's instead of printing from the PDF. - Why does the File, Print FedEx Kinko's icon appear/disappear from my System Tray?

The system tray icon displays under the following conditions:
- When Windows first starts up, File, Print FedEx Kinko's checks to see if there are any pending orders. If there are no pending orders, the icon will remain in the toolbar, but disappears if you run the mouse over it.
- The system tray icon is displayed when there are pending orders. When all pending orders are either placed or cancelled, the icon is removed from the display.
Other than the two above scenarios the File, Print FedEx Kinko's Icon should not appear in the System Tray.
- Why do I get a "Windows Security Alert" dialog when I start File, Print FedEx Kinko's?

When you first launch File, Print FedEx Kinko's for the first time with Windows XP, Service Pack 2, you will see a "Windows Security Alert" dialog box. Click "Unblock" to permit the program to access the Internet.
You will not be able to use File, Print FedEx Kinko's unless you unblock the FPKMain.exe program.
When you go to place your order, you will receive a second warning. You will not be able to complete your order with File, Print FedEx Kinko's unless you also unblock the Kinkos.Jupiter.GUI.SysTray.exe program. - Why am I getting an error from McAfee Internet Security or Symantic Norton Internet Security 2005 when I try to use File, Print FedEx Kinko's?

The "Temporarily Unavailable" message is displayed during scheduled system maintenance or if there is a problem connecting with FedEx Office servers. Please double-check to be sure your computer has an active connection to the Internet. If you have a valid connection try re-submitting the order a few minutes later. If, after several attempts, you're still unable to send your order, please contact customer service.
- Why am I getting a "Your FedEx Office card number is invalid" error?

File, Print FedEx Kinko's requires a 14-digit number in the credit card field. If your FedEx Office commercial account card only has a 10-digit card number, just add four zeros at the end of the number. So, for example, if your number is "0123456789," you'd enter "01234567890000" in the credit card field.
- I am trying to print my file, but it's tiling to multiple pages. What could be happening?

This can happen if you are attempting to print a document that is set up for a paper size that is not supported by File, Print FedEx Kinko's. File, Print FedEx Kinko's supports page sizes of Letter (8.5" x 11"), Legal (8.5" x 14"), and Ledger (11" x 17"). You will need to go back into your original application and change the selected paper size in order to submit your document with File, Print FedEx Kinko's.
