Low-Cost "Standard" Shipping
For free or low-cost “standard shipping” to your customer’s residence.
Introducing FedEx SmartPost® - our new, cost-effective residential service for low-weight, lower-value shipments for which timing is not critical.
Combining the strengths of FedEx and the United States Postal Service®, FedEx SmartPost provides delivery confirmation; it accommodates P.O. box and Military Army Post Office (APO) and Fleet Post Office (FPO) deliveries; and it levies no surcharges for residential, rural or Saturday deliveries.
Result? You’ll keep your costs low and help minimize cart abandonment due to shipping "sticker shock." Plus you’ll enjoy the assurance of fast, reliable FedEx® service and handling.
Special Residential Options
For residential delivery with world-class features and special delivery options.
What if your customers aren’t home during normal delivery times? Some goods are too valuable to "leave on the porch." And some people simply prefer to receive their packages in person.
That’s why there’s FedEx Home Delivery® - our exclusive residential service with Saturday and evening delivery at standard rates, plus premium service upgrades like an adult signature requirement, delivery by appointment, and more.
Shipping high-value goods? Want to do your best to accommodate your customers’ lifestyles? Try FedEx Home Delivery.
TopDeliver to a Business Address
For heavier items or for deliveries to your customer’s business address.
Often your customers want their merchandise delivered to their business addresses. For these times - and for when packages are more than 70 lbs. - you'll want to have FedEx Ground® as an option.
Ninety-five percent of the time, FedEx Ground gets it there in 4 business days or less.
Urgent/Fragile/Valuable Goods
For last-minute shopping, emergencies, and fragile or valuable items.
Sometimes your customers need that gift (or auto part or prescription) fast. If so, your customers will appreciate being able to choose FedEx Express, a standard-setter for reliable delivery.
Having time-definite delivery as fast as the same day - backed by a money-back guarantee, residential delivery signature options and shipment notifications — they’ll know they can count on you to ease their anxieties and come through in the clutch.
Hassle-Free Returns
For returns that are as hassle-free as possible.
When customers have to ship something back to you, they want it to be easy. After all, many still think buying online is risky (they can’t "try before they buy") — so a user-friendly returns process is key.
FedEx® solutions range from print or e-mail return labels to FedEx Express Tag® and Ground® Call Tag options. Customers can simply drop off return packages at a FedEx Office Print & Ship Center, a FedEx World Service Center®, a FedEx OfficeSM Ship Center, or a FedEx Authorized ShipCenter®.
An Ally Who Understands Online Retail
Consultants who truly understand e-commerce shipping.
When you get on board with FedEx, you'll work closely with our experienced solutions consultants. They'll help you with your FedEx® integration, of course, but that’s only the beginning.
What's more, your FedEx e-commerce shipping consultant will assist you beyond the integration phase — making sure that we provide you with the right solution to meet your business needs.
Guidance on International Markets
Your guide to a world of new markets.
Many online retailers are hesitant to trade across borders, due to complexity and risk. But through FedEx Trade Networks, you can pursue international markets with confidence — minimizing hidden costs and clearance delays.
FedEx Trade Networks has more than 100 years' experience in shipping goods globally, and provides a full range of international support services, including access to duty and tax solutions, document preparation, global ocean and air cargo distribution, and customs brokerage. (And don’t forget, FedEx Express and FedEx Ground serve international markets too.)
Lower Your Shipping Cost
Lower your shipping rates without even trying.
Our great variety of services includes options to help you reduce costs automatically. For example, check out FedEx Ground Multiweight® or FedEx Express hundred-weight pricing (perfect for inbound shipments from vendors).
Furthermore, by utilizing the full suite of FedEx® services, you can enjoy special pricing based on your unique shipping needs and shipping volumes. Even better, you can increase your FedEx earned discounts, which take into account your total FedEx volume (including inbound, outbound, international and returns).
Control Inbound Costs
Inbound: Save by leaps and bounds.
It’s widely believed that inbound shipping represents a retailer’s greatest opportunity to achieve economies of scale.
To be more precise, you could realize exponential savings if you take control of your inbound shipping from vendors. When you’re the one choosing the carrier, you’ll gain the opportunity to lower your costs with FedEx recipient billing and the FedEx Ground® COLLECT program (your vendors use their own FedEx account numbers, but you are invoiced directly for inbound packages, giving you control over cost and routing).
Furthermore, your inbound shipments via FedEx can be combined with your outbound shipments via FedEx — providing you greater overall FedEx volume for rate considerations, and the opportunity to increase your FedEx earned discounts.
Last but not least, you could keep less inventory (decreasing your cost of goods, space and management) by using fast, reliable FedEx® shipping services that shrink delivery lead times and predictably deliver goods on time.
To assist, we’ll make sure your vendors and employees know to ship to you via FedEx. We’ll even work to enable them to do so - so you can enjoy the maximum benefit from your FedEx relationship.
Integrated Shipping Functionality
Offline solutions: Designed by FedEx for optimum speed and integration.
For high volumes, managing shipments over the Internet may not be fast enough. That’s why we developed FedEx® offline solutions.
First, the PC-based FedEx Ship Manager®. It installs in minutes, can be networked for multiple shipping stations, and is ODBC compatible. (To integrate with your back-end accounting and order management databases, simply use FedEx® Integration Assistant — our self-service wizard — or get custom FedEx Integration help from our solutions consultants.)
Second, the server-based FedEx Ship Manager® Server, a transaction-based solution. You can integrate it into a multitude of applications, and use it to process up to eight packages per second (for your most demanding shipping requirements).
Web integration solutions: When you want FedEx to follow your program.
If you prefer to create your own application, you’ll be glad to know you can connect directly to FedEx back-end systems via the Internet — with FedEx Ship Manager® Direct. This Web integration solution includes XML tools and provides you with a seamless, custom integration of FedEx functionality. Best of all, you can use any platform for development.
Compatible solutions: FedEx functionality built in to the software you need most.
Through the FedEx® Compatible Solutions Program, we work with a number of software companies — including the leading warehouse management and shipping management providers — to provide FedEx shipping functionality within the applications you already use.
In many cases, you’ll also be able to check and compare FedEx rates versus other carriers.
Returns Cost Reduction
Returns: The hidden opportunity for significant cost reduction.
For nonstore retailers, “reverse logistics” average 10 to 15 percent of total shipping expenditures. That's a major cost — and a major cost-reduction opportunity.
Most retailers don’t even measure the cost of their returns. But call on FedEx, and we’ll help you choose from a variety of returns solutions that will allow you to efficiently manage your returns process.
Take your pick from our extensive array of returns solutions - the FedEx Print Return Labels, FedEx E-mail Return Label, FedEx ExpressTag®, and FedEx Ground® Call Tag, as well as our preprinted options. And take a look at the FedEx Return System - a contractual service that delivers enhanced visibility from the point of drop-off to the final destination, to help control the flow of high-volume returns for more effective inventory management.
Improve Customer Satisfaction
Out with out-of-stocks. In with customer satisfaction.
The bad news: On average, retailers lose 4 to 8 percent of their revenues by not having the right product at the right time.
The good news: You can minimize out-of-stocks by using fast, reliable FedEx® shipping for inventory replenishment.
You can also minimize out-of-stocks by using FedEx services for drop-shipping programs. And you can better manage customer-delivery expectations (or provide alternatives in the event of delays) with FedEx InSight® and its notification capabilities about the status of goods in transit.
Assurances for Online Shoppers
Tracking helps your reputation stay on track.
A welcome reassurance for online shoppers is the ability to track their own shipments. (Not only is it comforting for them, but it’s a real cost-saver for you — customer package tracking means fewer calls to your customer support center).
Through fedex.com, you can enable your customers to track the status of their packages, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And with FedEx InSight®, you don’t even have to know the tracking number — you can track by address or recipient name.
You can bank on FedEx trust.
Some online shoppers still consider buying goods online to be a risky transaction. So it might help to have the FedEx name on your side. After all, FedEx is a highly regarded brand - a standard of consistent excellence.
