Transmit Package and Internal Shipment Information Electronically

Benefits

• Lets you transmit internal reference numbers such as P.O. and invoice numbers, FedEx Ground Bar Codes, consignee information, and package weights directly to the FedEx Ground computer system. Then records these reference numbers on your FedEx Ground invoices and manifests.
• Choice of data transmission formats:
  • EDI 215 Motor Carrier Pick-up Manifest (requires an EDI Translator)
  • FedEx Ground Proprietary Flat File Format
  • FedEx Ship Manager (FedEx on-site shipping system formerly named FedEx PowerShip)
• Speeds up the delivery process. Since the information is already linked to the FedEx Ground system, E-PDI packages bypass the scanning, weighing, and keying (SWAK) process and move directly to the hub.
• Reduces the potential for keying mistakes caused by human error.
• Allows you to track packages two ways: Through a P.O., invoice, or other customer reference number and via the tracking ID found on each bar code label (last 15 digits of the FedEx Ground bar code).
• Ensures accurate billing.
• Itemized invoices are available based on the ZIP code and weight information generated from your system.
• Billing information is based on information supplied by you, so your records will more precisely match FedEx Ground invoices.
• No additional FedEx Ground charges beyond regular shipping rates; if using EDI, your own Value Added Network (VAN) charges will still apply.
