The list of countries that currently support FedEx® Electronic Trade Documents shipments are as follows. Please contact the FedEx Ship Manager Technical Support Center at 1.877.FDX Assist 1.877.339.2774 or your FedEx customer technology consultant if you have any additional questions on coverage for countries that support FedEx Electronic Trade Documents shipments.

Target Release

  • Origin countries – Electronic clearance and use of FedEx Electronic Trade Documents is permitted from the following countries and territories: Afghanistan, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belgium, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Canada, Cayman Islands, Channel Islands (Guernsey and Jersey), Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Jordan, Kenya, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Oman, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, St. Croix, St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Sweden, Thailand, Turks and Caicos Island, United Arab Emirates, U.S. and Wales.

  • If you are a new customer or currently on version 2361 through 2434, click Download Software v. 2450 to download version 2450 of FedEx Ship Manager Software.
  • If you are currently on version 2308 through 2360, you must upgrade to version 2361 before installing version 2450. Click Download Software v. 2361 to download version 2361 of FedEx Ship Manager Software.
Note: If your version of FedEx Ship Manager Software is integrated with FedEx® Integrator, the indicator “-i” appears next to your version number (e.g., “v.2361-i”). Since the current integration solution is not included in version 2450, do not download version 2450 of FedEx Ship Manager Software if your version of FedEx Ship Manager Software is integrated with FedEx Integrator. I can’t find my desktop icon for FedEx Ship Manager® Software. Where did it go?

The desktop icon was revised when you upgraded from version 2361 to 2440. Look for the new, simpler icon, featuring a globe.

The font on my shipping labels is larger now. Why?

It wasn’t intentional, but we’re aware of it and are working on a correction. Thank you for your patience.

How do I import and/or export from the Hold File in version 2440?

If you’re a FedEx Ship Manager Software PassPort user, follow these steps:

  1. Select Process Transactions from the PassPort drop-down menu at the top of the screen.
  2. Select a Processing Mode on the PassPort screen.
  3. Select the Input file as usual. An Output file is optional.
  4. To import all transactions into the Hold File, check Process.

What were the major changes from version 2361 to version 2440?

  1. Visibility to earned discounts, fees and surcharges — Take advantage of rate-reduction opportunities and precisely determine total shipping costs. For more information, please see the FedEx Ship Manager Software New Features Guide for Version 2420.
  2. FedEx Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) — Submit even your own trade documentation electronically (instead of print and attach) — for the paperless simplicity and speed that’s so critical to customs clearance.
  3. FedEx SmartPost® capabilities — If you’re a FedEx SmartPost contract customer, you can now use FedEx Ship Manager Software to ship large volumes of low-weight packages with reduced transit time and increased cost-efficiency.
  4. FedEx Express® service enhancements — Access time-critical services for shipments made within Mexico.
  5. FedEx International Economy® enhancements — Use cost-efficient services for more origins and destinations.
  6. Ability to print dangerous goods forms to laser printer — Now you’re not just limited to tractor-feed or inkjet printing of the Shipper’s Declaration for Dangerous Goods (M-1421C).
  7. Ability to download IATA table — You’ll have the latest codes easily accessible within your shipping software.
  8. Additional fields to configurable doc-tab and validator label — Now you can add your meter number and shipment dimensions to doc-tabs, and the Net Charge No Taxes field to doc-tabs and validator labels.
I can’t see my shipping rates. Why not? How do I fix that?

If your rate is showing as $0.00 on the dynamic rate preview or rate quote: You need to do Demand Download of rates.

Demand Download Instructions

FedEx Express and FedEx Ground® rates, surcharges and discounts are automatically downloaded to your system. To download them manually, follow these steps:

  1. Select Download from the Utilities menu. The Demand Download screen displays.
  2. Select the appropriate checkboxes, as applicable.


    • For FedEx Express, select the Express Domestic List Rates checkbox, Express Domestic Discounts checkbox and Express International Rates checkbox, as applicable.
    • For FedEx Ground, select the Ground List Rates checkbox and Ground Discounts checkbox, as applicable.
    • For earned discounts, select the Express Earned Discounts checkbox and the Ground Earned Discounts checkbox, as applicable.
    • For FedEx Ground discounted rates (for FedEx® Transborder Distribution shipments for Canada-origin shippers), select the Ground Discounts checkbox.
  3. Click OK.
If you’re billing a third party, and the recipient rate does not appear on the shipping screen: FedEx Ship Manager Software does not display rates for bill recipient or bill third party.

If you’re shipping a package internationally: FedEx Ship Manager Software does not support international list rates.

The service I’m looking for is not available in my Service type drop-down menu.
