     MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 10, 1997--Federal Express Corp. has named G. Edmond Clark, 42, senior vice president of its newly created Operations Support and Engineering division. Clark's areas of responsibility include global trade services/customs, vehicle acquisition and maintenance, quality and process management, and field training. He also will focus on cross-divisional planning and operational issues that demand increased attention on a global basis. He will report to Theodore L. Weise, executive vice president - Worldwide Operations. "This new organization will align several of our key operational support and planning functions into one division and sends a strong signal about our constant effort to improve service as the global leader in express transportation. Ed's experience in the rapidly expanding Asia Pacific market will serve us well as we focus on these important pieces of our worldwide network," Weise said. Clark joined Federal Express as a financial analyst in 1983 after three years with W. R. Grace & Co. He held a number of management positions prior to his promotion in 1992 to vice president, Finance - Asia/Pacific. In 1994, he was promoted to vice president of Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis. A native of Shelbyville, Tenn., Clark received his bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Vanderbilt University and earned his master's degree in business administration from the University of Houston. In addition, Rohan E. Champion, 39, of Chatham, N.J. was named to the newly created was vice president of Corporate Strategy for Novell, Inc.
