FedEx Custom Critical Launches Overnight Service to Mexico

    Business Editors
AKRON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 2003--FedEx Custom Critical, Inc., North America's largest provider of expedited time-critical shipments, now offers overnight heavyweight freight deliveries into Mexico through its latest service, Point-to-Point Mexico.
This service utilizes exclusive-use vehicles for pickups and for deliveries in Mexico. FedEx Express provides the air transportation on these shipments. Point-to-Point Mexico also includes customs clearance on delivery and proactive communications and tracking throughout each shipment.
"Our customers wanted more options to move their freight south of the U.S. border with an overnight delivery, so we are giving them a new, premium solution," said Kevin McClellan, managing director of FedEx Custom Critical's Air Expedite division. "Point-to-Point Mexico is a logical complement to our service portfolio. We can already arrange exclusive-use charters outbound from Mexico, so this addition completes the package for customers requiring inbound freight transport to this country as well."
The initial rollout of the service includes overnight deliveries from the United States and Canada to Mexico City, Toluca, Monterrey, Saltillo and Guadalajara. Point-to-Point Mexico is the latest installment to the company's suite of Point-to-Point Premium Air-Freight Services that offers SameDay, Next A.M. and Saturday delivery options. TEMP-ASSURE(R) Air is available for air freight that must stay cool throughout transit. Air Expedite also arranges exclusive-use charters and blended surface/air solutions to meet any critical delivery time.
