offering a series of free, educational seminars for Wine Institute
members designed to make it easier for wine producers to serve their
customers.
The seminars will be held in six California markets and aim to

automation technology, packaging and pricing. The series will include
seminars in Napa (Oct. 23), Santa Rosa (Oct. 27), Paso Robles (Oct.

As part of Wine Institute's FedEx Wine Shipping program, Institute

their wine shipping through FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. They will
also have access to the FedEx Packaging Lab for advice on packaging
and protection of their contents.
Wine producers seeking further information about the program,
including seminar registration, may contact Wine Institute at
415-356-7522. FedEx and Wine Institute will also hold a briefing for
members of the press. The tentative date is November 13. Those

"FedEx supports the need for direct shipping to give wineries
greater access to customers, and to give consumers a greater choice in
their wine selections," said Brian Philips, FedEx vice president of
U.S. marketing. "It is through our alliance with Wine Institute that
FedEx will present information about packaging and automation
technologies that small- and medium-size businesses can use to more
efficiently compete on a national level."
"Wine Institute is delighted with the heightened level of
interaction and cooperation we are enjoying with FedEx," said Steve
Gross, State Relations Manager at Wine Institute. "The upcoming
seminars are a clear indication that FedEx has chosen to dedicate both
