Wine Institute and FedEx to Hold Direct Shipping Seminars for California Wineries; Free Seminar Series to Cover Regulations, Automation, Packaging and Pricing

    SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 20, 2003--Wine Institute and FedEx Corporate Services, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), are offering a series of free, educational seminars for Wine Institute members designed to make it easier for wine producers to serve their customers.
    The seminars will be held in six California markets and aim to educate wine producers about current issues drastically changing the industry, such as new federal and state shipping regulations, automation technology, packaging and pricing. The series will include seminars in Napa (Oct. 23), Santa Rosa (Oct. 27), Paso Robles (Oct. 29), Buelton (Oct. 30), Pleasanton (Nov. 10) and Amador City (Nov. 14).
    As part of Wine Institute's FedEx Wine Shipping program, Institute members will receive significant advantages, including discounts on their wine shipping through FedEx Express and FedEx Ground. They will also have access to the FedEx Packaging Lab for advice on packaging and protection of their contents.
