FedEx Companies Star in New Advertising Campaign;
Ads reinforce reliability, peace of mind: ``Relax, it's FedEx''
Business Editors
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 4, 2003--"Relax, it's
FedEx,"(sm) the new broadcast advertising campaign for FedEx Corp.
(NYSE:FDX), will launch tonight during the season-opening telecast of
ABC's "Monday Night Football."
The fresh FedEx advertising campaign tells how each of the FedEx
family of companies delivers reliability and peace of mind to
customers, no matter what their need.
The ad that will air tonight is the first of a series that
includes eight, 30-second spots featuring the tagline, "Relax, it's
FedEx," and highlights the broad portfolio of air, ground, freight and
international shipping solutions offered by FedEx. It is the first
time that FedEx has highlighted services such as FedEx Freight(R) and
FedEx Home Delivery(R) in a broadcast campaign.
Also unique to this year's launch is:
| | -- | The ads debut on the opening 2003 telecast of ABC's "Monday
Night Football" broadcast from FedExField(R), home of the
Washington Redskins;
| | -- | The launch coincides with the decision by FedEx to extend its
sponsorship of the National Football League for three years.

"'Relax, it's FedEx' has evolved from our previous advertising,
but remains true to both the humorous tone and core message that the
FedEx brand represents -- peace of mind," said Brian Philips, FedEx
vice president of U.S. Marketing. "Most importantly this campaign
represents a major step in telling the full FedEx story with broadcast
spots that feature not only our FedEx Express(R) and FedEx Ground(R)
units, but also the first spots for FedEx Freight and FedEx Home
Delivery."
The ads, created by BBDO New York, show how FedEx solves problems
for businesses, both large and small, using the full range of FedEx(R)
air, ground, freight and international delivery services.
The "Relax, it's FedEx" campaign continues the rich advertising
heritage and reputation as a marketing leader that FedEx has earned.
Beginning with ground-breaking creative work produced almost 30 years
ago, FedEx has continued to drive the core message of its business -
delivering peace of mind to its customers - through entertaining
sketches of humorous office situations and caricatures of the business
world.
BBDO New York has been the lead advertising agency for FedEx for
14 years. BBDO Worldwide is the third leading global agency network
with 302 offices in 77 countries. In 2002, Ad Age named BBDO Worldwide
"Global Agency of the Year" for an unprecedented second year in a row.
It was also named "Global Agency of the Year" by Adweek magazine,
making BBDO the only agency to receive the top honor from every
leading industry publications in the same year.
