FedEx Driver Wins First Place Prize, Joins
Another FedEx Winner in the Ohio State Truck Driving Championship

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 23, 2003--
Drivers Embody FedEx Corporate-wide Commitment to
Safety and Professionalism
FedEx Corp. (NYSE:FDX) is proud to announce that a FedEx driver
received the first-place award in the Sleeper Truck Class at the 2003
Ohio State Truck Driving Championship held June 13-14 in Columbus,
Ohio.
Sheldon Brown, a FedEx Freight driver based in Toledo, achieved
first place in the Sleeper Truck class competition. In addition,
Travis Hout, a FedEx Freight driver based in Akron, placed second in
the 4-Axle Van Trailer class competition, joining Brown in
demonstrating top-level skills and professionalism in the competition.

Brown will go on to compete at the American Trucking Associations'
2003 National Truck Driving Championships, which will be held in
August in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, he may be eligible for prizes
awarded by FedEx Corp. FedEx drivers who compete in and win at the
national championships are eligible for a variety of awards through
the FedEx Corp. safe driving awards program, The Chairman's Challenge.
This new program provides the corporation with an opportunity to
further reward drivers for their embodiment of the FedEx
corporate-wide commitment to safety.
The Ohio State Truck Driving Championship is an opportunity for
professional truck drivers to demonstrate their driving skills and
commitment to safety.
The event includes a difficult driving skills and maneuvering
test, pre-trip inspections, a personal interview and a written
examination covering vehicle operation and knowledge of federal safety
regulations.
