FedEx Drivers Take First Place Honors in the
Illinois State Truck Driving Championship; Drivers Embody FedEx
Corporate-Wide Commitment to Safety and Professionalism

MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 11, 2003--FedEx Corp.
(NYSE:FDX) is proud to announce that three FedEx drivers achieved
first-place honors at the 2003 Illinois State Truck Driving
Championship held June 6-7 in Chicago Heights, IL.
FedEx Freight drivers David R. Nunn, based in Aurora, and Eric J.
Meister, based in Kankakee City, each achieved first-place finishes,
demonstrating top-level skills and professionalism in the competition.
Nunn finished first in the 3-Axle class competition, while Meister,
who also won the 2003 Rookie of the Year award, achieved first place
in the 4-Axle class competition.
Dragan Bursac, a FedEx Ground contractor from Chicago, took first
place honors in the Twins Trailers class.
In addition, three FedEx drivers placed within the top three
positions in their respective categories:

Nunn, Meister and Bursac will go on to compete at the American
Trucking Association's 2003 National Truck Driving Championships,
which will be held in August in Columbus, Ohio. In addition, each may
be eligible for prizes awarded by FedEx Corp. FedEx drivers who
compete in and win at the national championships are eligible for a
variety of awards through the FedEx Corp. safe driving awards program,
The Chairman's Challenge. This new program provides the corporation
with an opportunity to further reward drivers for their embodiment of
the FedEx corporate-wide commitment to safety.
The Illinois State Truck Driving Championship is an opportunity
for professional truck drivers to demonstrate their driving skills and
commitment to safety.
The event includes a difficult driving skills and maneuvering
test, pre-trip inspections, a personal interview and a written
examination covering vehicle operation and knowledge of federal safety
regulations.
