to Senior Vice President John J. Green Named Director of Marketing

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 29, 2001--Viking Freight
Inc., the leading LTL (less-than-truckload) carrier providing Western
regional transportation service and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp.
(NYSE:FDX), has promoted Keith E. Lovetro to the role of senior vice
president. Reporting directly to President & CEO Tilton G. Gore,
Lovetro is responsible for Viking's marketing and regional sales
functions and also plays a leadership role in finance, operations, IT
and human resources.

invaluable to Viking in maintaining our leadership position in Western

Lovetro joined Viking Freight in 1994 as director of marketing for
the former Roadway Regional Group. He was promoted to director of
customer service for Viking in 1996 and director of customer service &
inside sales in 1997 before being elevated to vice president of
marketing in 1998. Prior to joining Viking, Lovetro held management
roles at Emery Worldwide and CF Airfreight. He earned his MBA from the
University of Santa Clara and his bachelor's degree from the
University of California Davis.
In addition to Lovetro's promotion, Viking also named John J.
Green as director of marketing communications & product development.
He will lead the company's product management, marketing
communications and public relations functions and play an integral
role in product development and overall marketing strategy
implementation. He reports directly to Lovetro.
Formerly regional vice president, marketing & sales with Burns
International Security Services, Green also spent nine years with
Consolidated Freightways in a number of operations and marketing
management roles, including account manager and marketing manager. He
holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Auburn
University with a concentration in marketing and logistics, and an MBA
from Georgia State University.
