( BW)(TN-FEDEX)(FDX) FedEx Express Will Honor Money-Back Guarantee
Through Busy Holiday Season; FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and FedEx
Home Delivery Announce Holiday Schedule
Business Editors
MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 2001--FedEx Corp.
(NYSE:FDX) today outlined service changes and schedules for the peak
holiday season to help its customers prepare for the busiest shipping
time of the year. FedEx is gearing up to help its customers meet the
challenges of the holidays through its extensive air, ground and
information networks that include FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, as well
as its residential-ground service, FedEx(R) Home Delivery.
The FedEx Money-Back Guarantees
The money-back guarantees for all FedEx Express services will
remain in effect throughout the holidays. In recent years, FedEx
Express and its competition suspended the money-back guarantee on
deferred, more economical services, such as FedEx 2Day and FedEx
Express Saver, beginning in mid-December. This year, FedEx Express
money-back guarantees will remain in place. FedEx Express offers two
money-back guarantees; if a package is more than 60 seconds late or if
the customer cannot receive the status of their package within 30
minutes of inquiry, customers may request a refund of transportation
charges.
For FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery packages tendered from
Dec. 17 - 28, the FedEx money-back guarantee for delivery will
temporarily be suspended.

Other Service Changes
In response to the economic challenges facing all businesses and
shippers and as part of its continuing cost-control measures, FedEx
Express will discontinue FedEx Extra Hours(SM) service effective Nov.
23, 2001. This will be the last day packages may be tendered for this
service. FedEx will continue to offer a number of service options that
help customers extend their workday, including:
| | -- | Many FedEx World Service Centers(R) are open until 8 p.m.
and some even later. Customers can visit www.fedex.com or
call 800/Go-FedEx for local times and locations.
| | -- | FedEx airport ramp facilities in many markets give
customers the option to drop off shipments several hours
after the nearest FedEx World Service Center has closed
for the evening.
| | -- | FedEx SameDay is available seven days a week, 24-hours a
day. It is an excellent option for shippers who need the
greatest flexibility on deadlines and the fastest possible
delivery once a shipment is tendered. Customers can call
800/Go-FedEx(R) for details.
