    MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 13, 1999--FDX Logistics, Inc., a subsidiary of FDX Corp., (NYSE:FDX) announced the appointment of Gary D. Gilbert to the position of president & chief executive officer at its FDX Supply Chain Services unit.
    "Gary is one of the most respected leaders in the global logistics market, and we are very fortunate to have him on our team. Gary's mission will be to use his extensive global experience to build FDX Supply Chain Services into a powerhouse in the global logistics market," said Joe McCarty, president and chief executive officer of FDX Logistics.
    Gilbert joins the company from Sea Land Logistics, Inc., where he served as president since 1996. Gilbert has been with Sea Land for 23 years, serving in various sales and operations positions in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North America. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a Masters of Science degree in Engineering from State University of New York.
