PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 1999--
To Serve 10.5 Million U.S. Administrative Professionals
Who Control $200 Billion in Corporate Spending
OfficeClick.com, Inc. today announced it will launch the first
Internet site tailored to the needs of America's estimated 10.5
million administrative professionals, who wield approximately $200
billion in annual spending power.
OfficeClick.com is an Online Workcenter(SM) - a unique, free
service that will redefine how administrative professionals operate in
the workplace. The site (www.officeclick.com) will go live in
November. OfficeClick.com is the only Web site that consolidates daily
administrative responsibilities into one place, allowing
administrative professionals to keep track of their tasks, meetings,
schedules and deliveries, make travel arrangements, buy office
supplies and keep their department informed. Designed by
administrative professionals for administrative professionals,
OfficeClick.com has a unique task and activity-based orientation
offering all of the tools, vendors, online resources, and rich content
to help them save time and be more productive.
"Administrative professionals - whether they're called admins,
secretaries or executive assistants - are a powerful group in the
workforce," said OfficeClick.com, Inc. President and CEO Jamie
Rapperport. "They are the unsung heroes of American business -
efficient, dedicated pros with a difficult job to do. We've talked
with hundreds of them across different industries and company sizes,
and we found there was a clear need for a service that streamlines
their day-to-day activities. We want to Web-enable these activities so
that OfficeClick remains on their desktop all day."
The International Association of Administrative Professionals is
the world's largest association for administrative personnel.
Representing its 40,000 members and affiliates, Executive Director Tom
Watters said, "We are very excited about OfficeClick.com, and we are
happy to have formed an alliance with this excellent Internet-based
service that has been designed around the typical multi-tasking,
deadline driven days of our members. OfficeClick.com integrates much
of their daily activity in one location, making admins even more
efficient and productive."
Industry Leaders Endorse OfficeClick with Co-Branded Services
Recognizing the valued service OfficeClick delivers to this
high-spending market, a number of major corporations including
Corporate Express and Federal Express Corp. have signed on to
establish a significant presence on the OfficeClick.com web site, as
well as to create 'co-branded' versions of the service.
FDX Corp. (NYSE: FDX) is the parent company for FedEx. FedEx will
launch a co-branded version of OfficeClick.com. Extending its
commitment to offer its customers the best Internet-based solutions,
this is the first time that FedEx has co-branded an Internet service
for a specific audience. When launched as planned early next year, the
service will contain all of the features of the OfficeClick.com
service with enhancements tailored to the specific information and
transaction requirements of FedEx customers.
"Our customers depend on us to provide our convenient, reliable
service in the most efficient way possible," said Laurie A. Tucker,
senior vice president of Electronic Commerce and Customer Services for
FedEx. "With OfficeClick.com, administrative professionals, who are
key purchasers of our services, will have the needed information and
tools at their fingertips to manage their extremely busy and demanding
positions."
Corporate Express, (NASDAQ:CEXP) is a leading supplier of
essential office and computer products and services to corporations
that value innovative procurement solutions. The Corporate
Express-OfficeClick.com co-branded site will be an integral part of
E-Way, Corporate Express' proprietary electronic procurement solution.
The co-branded site will allow Corporate Express customers to benefit
from this unique package of tools and resources.
"Corporate Express is pleased to establish this co-branded site
and to be a key supplier in OfficeClick's Online Workcenter," said
Robert King, President and CEO of Corporate Express. "Working with
OfficeClick.com represents a great opportunity for Corporate Express
to provide an additional channel to deliver fast, easy and flexible
e-commerce solutions to our customers, while providing a targeted
avenue to reach administrative professionals."
The Online Workcenter for Administrative Professionals
With most administrative professionals constantly on the go, it
can be a challenge for them to manage their daily workflow. Admins who
keep track of tasks with paper and Post-it(R) notes can now use
OfficeClick's Calendar, built in To-Do List, Status Tracker - a unique
feature that lets them track and update order, flight and package
information in one location - and other integrated features to
computerize their schedules, planners, appointments, and make travel
arrangements. With a Group Bulletin Board, each admin can even have
their own web page that keeps their department constantly up to date.
The service also provides instant access to resources, research
and forums to enable admins to make informed decisions more quickly.
The InfoExchange forum, for example, extends their informal network by
allowing them to tap into a broad community of their peers.
Market Leaders Connect with Major Corporate Purchasers
At launch, users will have access to more than 40 vendors through
the service including leading companies in categories such as
shipping, office supplies, travel, meeting services, software,
corporate gifts, catering and staffing services.
Adecco, the world's largest staffing company, has entered into a
major co-marketing agreement with OfficeClick to promote the benefits
of the service to the 800,000 US associates it puts to work each year.
"Our associates are in high demand because they immediately can
be productive and valuable to a corporation," said Barry Asin, Vice
President of Strategy and Marketing for Adecco. "We will be
encouraging them to base their activities around OfficeClick. It's
tailor-made for their day-to-day activities and can be a familiar,
proven asset to them every time they sit down at an unfamiliar desk.
With the personalization features of OfficeClick, our associates will
have the service 'follow' them around from assignment to assignment,
always ready to help them accomplish their tasks efficiently."
