    MEMPHIS, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 12, 1998--Federal Express Corp. (FedEx) (NYSE:FDX), the world's largest express transportation company, will introduce a new service that will provide an even quicker option for many international shipments beginning in September.
    FedEx(R) International Next Flight will allow U.S. based customers to ship packages to more than 150 countries within hours of calling FedEx. A courier will pick up the package in as little as 60 minutes from the call and the shipment will be placed on the next available international flight.
    "The world is about to move even faster," said David B. Shoenfeld, senior vice-president, FedEx Marketing, Customer Service and Corporate Communication. "Customers have asked for a specialized service providing the quickest route overseas and FedEx is delivering."
    FedEx International Next Flight deliveries will include a money-back guarantee and the door-to-door customs clearance that FedEx customers have come to expect. The service will also provide a proof of delivery call for each shipment.
    Customers using FedEx International Next Flight can have packages picked up from domestic origins in the 50 United States, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service is available every day of the year, including holidays.
    FedEx has formed an alliance with World Courier, one of the nation's leading courier companies, to provide this service. Since 1969, World Courier Group, Inc., the parent company of World Courier has provided unique solutions for highly time critical shipments. World Courier operates more than 80 wholly owned offices in 39 countries.
