When Shipping to Israel, clearance through Customs depends on whether you're shipping:
For shipments where clearance is required, Israelis Customs Authority requires 17% VAT. Depending on the commodity, tax will also be added prior to release. FedEx will charge the recipient VAT and taxes either directly or charge their account at Customs. Only companies can apply for this account at Customs.
Certain items are prohibited by Customs for import to Israel. These items are in addition to items forbidden by IATA. Senders are responsible for making sure that the goods they are shipping are acceptable for shipment to Israel.
