Smart Shipping: Packed, Sealed, Delivered!

Here are some packaging guidelines that you can use when preparing your shipments.

Packing Your Package

  • Box Weight Specifications : Don’t exceed the weight specifications for your box
  • Contents : Position contents in the center of sturdy box and surround by cushioning (bubble wrap, “peanuts”, or foam pads)
  • Fragile items : Cushion fragile items inside one box, then put into a larger box with 5 to 7.5 cm of cushioning around and inside the inner box.
  • Size : Packages should be larger than 18 cm x 10 cm x 5 cm
  • Sharp Edges : Cover all sharp or protruding edges with taped corrugated panels or pads.
  • Protective containers : If finishes could be damaged or soiled in transit, place in protective container
  • Unwrapped: Do not wrap the outer box with paper

Sealing Your Package

  • Good Tape : Seal seams and flaps with pressure sensitive plastic tape. Tape should be at least 5 cm wide, but preferably 7.5 cm wide
  • Bad Tape : Do not use cellophane tape, masking tape, duct tape, kraft paper tape, string or rope.
  • Perishables : Use insulation to protect perishables from extreme temperature changes.

Addressing Your Package Label

  • Complete Information : Provide complete sender and recipient addresses, including phone numbers and zip codes. Make sure all required information is included.
  • Orientation marking : We cannot ensure compliance with orientation marking such as “This end up” or up arrows. Place shipping labels on the top surface of your box to increase your chances for preferred orientation.
  • Backup Information : Include your address and the destination address inside shipment as well.
