Help Menu

Click the Help menu at the top of each page to access the following tools:

International Trade Tools


Multiple tools are available to assist you with your international shipping needs. Select the checkbox corresponding to the desired tool and then click Go to launch the tool. If you will be using more than one of the international tools in preparing a single shipment, save time and avoid redundant data entry by selecting all applicable checkboxes prior to clicking Go. If multiple selections are made, you will only be prompted once for information that is common across the selected documents.

Main Menu

Additional Tools


  • Product Profiles
    Save time when creating international shipments and preparing customs documentation by selecting commodities from your Product Profile database when using FedEx Global Trade Manager and FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com. Upload international commodity profiles and manage them using sorting, grouping and editing functionality.

    Access your Product Profiles database by clicking the Product Profiles link displayed to the left of the FedEx Global Trade Manager international tools menu.
  • FedEx Export AgentFile®
    Streamline your Electronic Export Information (EEI) filing and shipment preparation process. This tool stores all of your filings, creating a record you can access online anytime within 45 days of its submission. Access the tool by clicking the FedEx Export AgentFile® link displayed at the bottom of the Prepare Documents tab within FedEx Document Preparation Center. To learn more about EEI filing requirements and options, click the SED/Electronic Export Information link displayed to the left of the FedEx Global Trade Manager international tools menu.
 

FedEx Document Preparation Center


This powerful collection of tools enables you to manage all aspects of the international document preparation process. Use the streamlined version of FedEx Document Preparation Center available on the FedEx Global Trade Manager home page, or click the document preparation center link within the tool's description to access the full-featured edition containing enhanced sorting, searching and image management capabilities.


Prepare Documents



With FedEx Document Preparation Center, you can prepare commonly required international shipping documents online, as well as download hundreds of additional international documents for offline completion.
  • Online Document Completion
    To complete a document online, first click the Prepare Documents tab displayed within FedEx Document Preparation Center. Next, select the checkbox corresponding to the document you wish to create and then click the Continue button to begin entering the required information.

    If multiple documents are required for your shipment (e.g., commercial invoice and packing list), save time and avoid redundant data entry by selecting all applicable checkboxes prior to clicking Continue. If multiple selections are made, you will only be prompted once for information that is common across the selected documents.

    If you are unsure which documents are required for your shipment, use the Find International Documents tool displayed on the FedEx Global Trade Manger international tools menu. After the required forms have been identified by the tool, you will be presented with the option to initiate online document completion where applicable.
  • Download Documents for Offline Completion
    To download a document for offline completion, first click the Prepare Documents tab displayed within the full-featured edition of FedEx Document Preparation Center. Enter the name or description of the document you wish to download into the search field within the Request a Blank Document tool and click Search. (Note: The streamlined version of FedEx Document Preparation Center on the FedEx Global Trade Manager home page does not include the Request a Blank Document option. If needed, use the full-featured edition.)

    A successful document search will result in a table of results being displayed. Select the checkbox corresponding to the document you wish to download and click Print. The selected document will be displayed in PDF format. You may then choose to save the document locally or print the document to your local printer.

    If you select multiple checkboxes within the Request a Blank Document table of results prior to clicking Print, all selected documents will be combined and displayed as a single PDF.


My Document Profiles



Each document profile relates to one or more international documents you have prepared. By creating a new international shipping document based on an existing document profile, you save time and avoid redundant data entry. The information saved in document profiles can serve as a starting point for future documents.

After clicking the My Document Profiles tab, select the checkbox associated with the document profile you wish to use and click Create/Edit new document(s). This will initiate online document completion based of the selected profile.

Sort and Search features are available to assist you in finding the correct profile. By default the sorting is by consignee company name. The displayed columns can be modified by clicking Choose Columns.

Use the Search box and click Go to find a document profile. Search results can be subsequently cleared by clicking Show All.

Click Delete after making a selection to remove the document profile.

Selecting a profile and clicking Ship will initiate the shipping process within FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com based on the information saved in the selected document profile.

Pending Documents


Documents which you start to create via FedEx Document Preparation Center and choose to save prior to fully completing are displayed within Pending Documents. These pending documents can be completed at a later time (they are saved for 45 days). Once completed, documents are automatically removed from Pending Documents and instead displayed in Document Archive.

After clicking the Pending Documents tab, select the checkbox associated with the document you wish to finalize and click Resume document(s). This will resume online document completion based of the selected profile.

Sort and Search features are available to assist you in finding the correct pending document. The displayed columns can be modified by clicking Choose Columns. Use the Search box and click Go to find a document. Search results can be subsequently cleared by clicking Show All.

Click Delete after making a selection to remove the document.

The streamlined version of FedEx Document Preparation Center on the FedEx Global Trade Manager home page does not include Choose Columns, Search and Show All functionality. Be sure to use the full-featured edition.
 

Document Archive


International shipping documents created using FedEx Global Trade Manager and FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com are displayed within Document Archive for 45 days. While available, archived documents can be viewed, edited and re-printed. Additionally, you can create Document Profiles based on these documents.

After clicking the Document Archive tab, select the checkbox associated with the document you wish to act upon. Click Reprint to print an additional copy of a document to your printer, or click View/edit details to update a document. To create a Document Profile from a selected document, enter a name for the new profile in the Profile Name field and then click Copy to document profiles. From My Document Profiles you can then reuse the copied document for a new shipment.

Sort and Search features are available to assist you in finding the correct pending document. The displayed columns can be modified by clicking Choose Columns. Use the Search box and click Go to find a document. Search results can be subsequently cleared by clicking Show All.

The streamlined version of FedEx Document Preparation Center on the FedEx Global Trade Manager home page does not include Choose Columns, Search and Show All functionality. Be sure to use the full-featured edition.

Additionally, documents uploaded by customers for use with FedEx Electronic Trade Documents are not accessible via Document Archive. Go to My Saved Customs Documents within Upload Documents to view these documents.
 

My Images


Many countries require that international documents be printed on company letterhead and include an authorized signature. My Images enables you to upload images of your company’s letterhead and your signature so that they can be printed on international documents when you use FedEx Global Trade Manager or FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com.

  • Company Letterhead
    After clicking the My Images tab, within the Company Letterhead section, type the full filename of the letterhead image you wish to display on your international documents or click Browse to search for the file on your computer. After the filename has been entered, click the Upload button to transmit the image to FedEx. After the file has been uploaded successfully, a preview of the image will be displayed within My Images.

    A single company letterhead image (GIF or PNG) is currently supported. Maximum image size is 700 pixels wide by 50 pixels tall.
  • Signature
    Within the Signature section, type the full filename of the signature image you wish to display on your international documents or click Browse to search for the file on your computer. After the filename has been entered, click the Upload button to transmit the image to FedEx. After the file has been uploaded successfully, a preview of the image will be displayed within My Images.

    A single signature image (GIF or PNG) is currently supported. Maximum image size is 700 pixels wide by 50 pixels tall.
When creating international documents within FedEx Global Trade Manager you will be provided with the opportunity to indicate whether the company letterhead and signature images should be applied to the document you are creating.

Upload Documents


FedEx Electronic Trade Documents provides 3 different ways you can upload your own customs documents to FedEx associate them with an international shipment thereby speeding the clearance process and reducing the amount of physical paperwork that is required to accompany international shipments. Upload Your Customs Document(s)

  • PRE-Shipment Document Upload
    After clicking the Upload Documents tab, within the Upload Your Customs Document(s) section, type the full filename of the document you wish to upload for use with a future FedEx Electronic Trade Documents shipment or click Browse to search for the file on your computer. After the filename has been entered, select Shipper country, Consignee country and Document type. Lastly, enter your own Document reference prior to clicking Upload and save to transmit the document to FedEx or clicking Ship to immediately initiate the FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com international shipping workflow. After the file has been uploaded successfully, it will be displayed in My Saved Customs Documents and will also be displayed in the Shipped list if applicable. You will be able to access this document for 45 days and attach it to a new international shipment processed through fedex.com

    To upload multiple files at once, click the Add another file link to the left of the Upload and save button to expand the section in support of additional data entry prior to uploading your documents.

    Up to five documents can be uploaded at once. Maximum file size is 5MB and your document must be in one of the following formats: .doc; .docx .xls; .xlxs, .txt; .rtf; .jpg; .gif; .bmp; .tif; .png and .pdf.


  • AT-Shipment Document Upload:

    Any FedEx international shipping application enabled to support Electronic Trade Documents can upload customs document during the shipping process. (See HELP information provided by the shipping application.)


  • POST-Shipment Document Upload (PSDU):

    PSDU enables users to upload customs document(s) after the shipping label has been created. Customs documents can be uploaded up to the PSDU cutoff time on shipment day.
    • The standard PSDU cutoff time is the time the package is picked up or tendered to FedEx.

    Pre-requisites

    The international shipment must created and designated for PSDU by one of the following shipping platforms:
    • FedEx Web Services (Version 3250-3300 or later)
    • FedEx Ship Manager® Server (Version 1701 or later)
    • FedEx Ship Manager® Software (Version 3100 or later)
    • (Global Ship Manager is planned for a future release)

    (See shipping platform for details on how to designate shipments as PSDU and upload documents using transactions)
Note:
To use FedEx Electronic Trade Documents you must first enable the feature. FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com users can enable this functionality within the International Shipping section of Preferences.

First, go to FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com and log in. Click Preferences at the top right of the Create a Shipment page. Find the International Preferences section and ensure the Enable Electronic Trade Documents (ETD) checkbox is selected prior to clicking Save Changes.

If using Global Trade Manager (GTM) for PSDU document upload the user:
  • Must have a FedEx Common Login (FCL) to access GTM
    • Click “Sign up Now” link on fedex.com and follow the instruction presented.
  • Must be authorized to access shipments from the FedEx account # used to create the shipment.
    • To link another account use “Add and account link” once you access GTM

    Accessing Manage Post-Shipment Document Upload:
    There are two ways to access the Manage Post-Shipment Document Upload capability:

    Option 1: Log into GTM using your authorized FCL.
    • The GTM landing page will display a red Alert banner if PSDU shipments for any account for any FedEx account linked to your FCL need attention.
    • Access PSDU shipments by either:
      • Clicking the underlined/hyperlink in the red Alert banner OR
      • Selecting Post Shipment from the Document Upload tab dropdown in the Document Prep Center
    • The Manage Post-Shipment Document Upload page will be displayed
    • Additional HELP on Document Upload is available on that page

    Option 2: If you are using FedEx Ship Manager Software (Version 3100 or later) you can link to the Manage Post-Shipment Documents page by accessing the fedex.com tab at the top of the FedEx Ship Manager Software shipping page and selecting "Complete ETD (Post Shipment)". The Manage Post Shipment Document Upload page will be displayed in English but you can change to your preferred language by selecting it at the top of the page.
    • Addition HELP is available on this page.

  • My Saved Customs Documents
    Customs documents uploaded by you using FedEx Global Trade Manager and FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com are displayed within My Saved Customs Documents for 45 days. While available, these documents can be viewed, resubmitted and shipped.

    Within My Saved Customs Documents select the checkbox associated with the uploaded document you wish to act upon. Click View to display the uploaded file or click Resubmit to upload a revised file without altering its description or shipment association. Click Ship when you are ready to initiate a FedEx Electronic Trade Documents shipment based on your selection using FedEx Ship Manager at fedex.com. Following successful processing of your shipment, your uploaded customs document will be displayed in the Shipped list.

    Sort and Search features are available to assist you in finding the correct pending document. The displayed columns can be modified by clicking Choose Columns. Use the Search box and click Go to find a document. Search results can be subsequently cleared by clicking Show All.
