Printable Version FedEx Express supports the Overseas Vote Foundation with a secure and rapid service enabling US citizens based overseas to cast their votes in the US 2008 presidential ballot.
FedEx will support the Overseas Vote Foundation (OVF) to aid US voters abroad through the innovative Express Your Vote initiative.
Statistics published by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission indicate that the third most common reason for ballot forms being rejected and not counted is because they are returned to local election offices after the required deadline.
The new scheme has therefore been developed to provide speedy, secure and reliable voting services for federal electoral processes, including the Presidential Elections in November 2008. There are currently an estimated six million US voters living abroad. Within the EMEA region, voters in 46 countries will now be able to benefit from FedEx Express delivery services for the despatch of their absentee ballot returns between September 15th and October 29th 2008.
The innovative new service provides for the speedy collection and delivery of ballot papers and related documentation. Additionally, voters will be able to track and trace the shipment of their ballot papers online at any time. The Express Your Vote program also provides individuals with proactive proof of delivery through the OVF web site with systems specifically developed by FedEx to make use of the latest advanced automation technology.
FedEx Express is proud to participate in an important initiative which links its advanced and unrivalled logistics expertise, experience and service network to the practical and active support of individual, community and national democratic interests and responsibilities.
