Printable Version Chile – New Regulation Affecting Shipping Documentation
If you are exporting to Chile, a new regulation requires that you must now include the consignee’s Tax Identification Number on shipping documents. Chilean customs imposed this new requirement from 1 March 2008. Your consignee’s Tax Identification Number (known as ‘RUT’) is now required for all non-document shipments entering Chile and must be entered on the International Air Waybill and commercial invoice.
To make sure that your shipments to Chile clear customs as quickly as possible, please make sure that you now include this number.
