Effective January 19th, 2009, for FedEx Express shipments, the fuel surcharge will be assessed on the net package rate plus any applicable transportation-related surcharges. Transportation-related surcharges for purposes of this calculation are defined as follows: Broker Routing Fee (Broker Select), Out of Delivery Area (ODA), Out of Pickup Area (OPA) and Saturday Pickup (SPU).
This surcharge, based on the spot price per gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel, applies to all FedEx Express shipments originating in Latin America and the Caribbean (including Puerto Rico), except for the following services: FedEx International Express Freight® (IXF) and FedEx International Airport-AirportSM (ATA). FedEx has adopted a new fuel surcharge calculation method for FedEx Express services based on the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. This has been in effect for FedEx Express in Puerto Rico since December 3, 2001 and all other Latin America and the Caribbean countries since April 1, 2002. This method more closely links the fuel surcharge to prevailing market prices for jet fuel, and should help FedEx and its customers respond more quickly to changes in fuel prices in the marketplace.
The surcharge percentage for FedEx Express - Latin America and Caribbean Division services will be subject to monthly adjustment based on a rounded average of the U.S. Gulf Coast (USGC) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel.

Fuel surcharge percentages and associated trigger points are subject to change without notice. See the Terms and Conditions for more details. If the Fuel Surcharge rises above 15.50% or there are changes to the trigger points, the above table will be updated.
Changes to the FedEx Express - Latin America and Caribbean Division, fuel surcharge will be applied effective the first Monday of each month. The surcharge percentage will be reflected on your FedEx invoice. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month will be available approximately two weeks before the surcharge is applicable.
