This surcharge, based on the spot price per gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel, applies to FedEx Express transportation charges published in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa, except to the transportation charges for the following services: FedEx International Express Freight (IXF) and FedEx International Airport-Airport (ATA).
FedEx has adopted a new fuel surcharge calculation method for FedEx Express services based on the fuel prices published monthly by the U.S. Department of Energy. This has been in effect for FedEx Express in all countries in Europe, Middle East, India and Africa since September 2, 2002 for all FedEx Express services excluding IXF & ATA and will be in effect for IXF & ATA as of March 3, 2003. This method more closely links the fuel surcharge to prevailing market prices for jet fuel, and should help FedEx and its customers respond more quickly to changes in fuel prices in the marketplace.

The surcharge percentage for FedEx Express - Europe, Middle East, India and Africa Division services will be subject to monthly adjustment based on a rounded average of the Rotterdam (ARA) spot price for a gallon of kerosene-type jet fuel.

Fuel surcharge percentages and amounts, associated trigger points and methods of calculation are subject to change without notice. See Section 22 of the Federal Express Conditions of Carriage for EMEA. If the Fuel Surcharge rises above the maximum value or there are changes to the trigger points, the above tables will be updated.
Changes to the FedEx Express - Europe, Middle East, India and Africa Division fuel surcharge will be applied effective the first Monday of each month. The effective surcharge will be reflected on your FedEx invoice. Information on the fuel surcharge for each month will be available approximately two weeks before the surcharge is applicable.
