Description of Fees

Additional Line Items (Multiple Commodities). FedEx can handle the clearance of shipments containing multiple commodities. For clearance of shipments with more than 10 commodities, a fee will be charged per additional line item.

Broker Document Transfer. If you choose to use a Brokerage company other than FedEx to clear your inbound shipment, FedEx will charge a service fee to ensure all paperwork is provided to your selected broker.

Clearance for End Use. To provide you with the most cost-effective customs brokerage service possible, FedEx can ensure duty-free or duty- and VAT-free clearance of your shipment when you provide us with the necessary documentation. This service can be beneficial when shipping military, scientific, test equipment and aircraft parts.

Duty-and-Tax Reclaim. If the duty and tax information you provided with a shipment was incorrect, FedEx can file a reclaim with customs authorities on your behalf.

Freight Clearance. To benefit from our full expertise, you can use FedEx Customs Brokerage Services for freight and third-party shipments.

In-Bond Transit. If you choose to use your own customs-clearance department or a Brokerage company other than FedEx to clear your inbound shipments, FedEx will charge a service fee to prepare the necessary transfer documentation and moves your inbound shipment from the point of arrival to a location you specify.

Other Governmental Agencies/Processing Fee. To streamline your customs-clearance processes, FedEx can advance payment of charges to external governmental agencies (e.g., veterinary inspection) at your request. These fees and a processing charge will subsequently be invoiced.

Personal Effects. To facilitate personal imports, FedEx can organize customs clearance of personal effects to be transferred to the European Union (EU) from a country outside the EU. This may include unaccompanied luggage, household effects, inheritance goods or wedding gifts.

Returned Goods. FedEx can organize the return of your goods that have temporarily been exported to a country outside the EU for reasons such as repair, processing, testing, evaluation, trade shows and touring events (concerts and so on).

Customized Service. FedEx can provide additional services such as creating specific reports, opening/labeling packages. Both FedEx and the payer have to agree on the hourly expenses before this service can be applied

Storage. Shipments that remain in a FedEx warehouse for more than 48 hours (if you select FedEx International Broker Select) or 72 hours (if you select FedEx clearance) are assessed a Storage charge.

Temporary Export/Temporary Import. To ensure smooth transit of your goods through customs, FedEx can organize the temporary import or export of your goods and handle all the necessary documentation related to duty and VAT relief.
