Description of Fees

Additional Line Items (Multiple Commodities). FedEx can handle the clearance of shipments containing multiple commodities. For clearance of shipments with more than 10 commodities, a fee will be charged per additional line item.

In-Bond Transit. If you choose to use your own customs-clearance department or a Brokerage company other than FedEx to clear your inbound shipments, FedEx will charge a service fee to prepare the necessary transfer documentation and moves your inbound shipment from the point of arrival to a location you specify.

Other Government Agency Processing. Certain commodities are regulated and controlled by a separate Governmental Agency and may be subject to specific clearance processes. To expedite the clearance of these types of shipments, FedEx can provide the necessary documentation to file the required information (paper or electronic) with the respective Governmental Agency. FedEx will advance payment of charges to external Governmental Agencies at your request. The Agency charges and a FedEx processing fee will subsequently be invoiced to the payer.

Returned Goods. FedEx can organize the return of your goods that have temporarily been exported to a country outside the EU for reasons such as repair, processing, testing, evaluation, trade shows and touring events (concerts and so on).

Temporary Export/Temporary Import. To ensure smooth transit of your goods through customs, FedEx can organize the temporary import or export of your goods and handle all the necessary documentation related to duty and VAT relief.

Storage. Storage may be needed if a customer requires they be informed that a shipment is on its way prior to local dispatch, or wishes to specify which customs procedures to apply.

Customized Service. FedEx can provide additional services such as creating specific reports, opening/labeling packages. Both FedEx and the payer have to agree on the hourly expenses before this service can be applied

Direct Payment Processing. A fee is charged to compensate FedEX for originating a direct payment process allowing release of shipments and payment of Customs charges. This service is focused on payers that may be a credit risk or for shipments with a very high value as may be determined in each country.

Post Clearance Entry Adjustment. At your request, FedEx will submit an Entry Adjustment to Customs to correct an entry on any previous information you had provided .  This may result in a reimbursement of an over payment of duty/tax or may result in an additional duty/tax amount owed to Customs.

Advancement Fee. Duties, taxes and other charges might be due when importing a shipment. FedEx may advance these fees as assessed by Customs on behalf of the payer. A fee will be based on the advanced amount.
