Description of Fees

Post Clearance Entry Adjustment. At your request, FedEx will submit an Entry Adjustment to Customs to correct an entry on any previous information you had provided .  This may result in a reimbursement of an over payment of duty/tax or may result in an additional duty/tax amount owed to Customs.

Additional Line Items. FedEx can provide clearance of shipments containing multiple commodities, however; an Additional Line Item Fee is applied to assign multiple tariff classifications. A shipment may incur this charge if: 1) it includes multiple tariff classifications above the stated "Free Lines" listed in the charges section; or 2) an identical commodity was manufactured in more than one country; or 3) multiple Commercial Invoices tendered to customs requires an individual Tariff classification for each invoice; or 4) you request a separate line entry for each item in the shipment.

In-Bond Transit. If you choose to use your own customs-clearance department or a Brokerage company other than FedEx to clear your inbound shipments, FedEx will charge a service fee to prepare the necessary transfer documentation and moves your inbound shipment from the point of arrival to a location you specify.

Other Governmental Agencies/Processing Fee. To streamline your customs-clearance processes, FedEx can advance payment of charges to external governmental agencies (e.g., veterinary inspection) at your request. These fees and a processing charge will subsequently be invoiced.

Temporary Export/Temporary Import. To ensure smooth transit of your goods through customs, FedEx can organize the temporary import or export of your goods and handle all the necessary documentation related to duty and VAT relief.

Storage. Storage may be needed if a customer requires they be informed that a shipment is on its way prior to local dispatch, or wishes to specify which customs procedures to apply.

Customized Service. FedEx can provide additional services such as creating specific reports, opening/labeling packages. Both FedEx and the payer have to agree on the hourly expenses before this service can be applied

Advancement Fee. Duties, taxes and other charges might be due when importing a shipment. FedEx may advance these fees as assessed by Customs on behalf of the payer. A fee will be based on the advanced amount.

Direct Payment Processing. A fee is charged to compensate FedEX for originating a direct payment process allowing release of shipments and payment of Customs charges. This service is focused on payers that may be a credit risk or for shipments with a very high value as may be determined in each country.
